Explanation of Symbols
The symbol with the lightning in the triangle is used if there is a risk to your health, e.g. due to an
electric shock.
The symbol with an exclamation mark in a triangle indicates important instructions contained in
these operating instructions that must be followed.
Safety Instructions
Read the operating instructions carefully and especially observe the safety information. If you do
not follow the safety instructions and information on proper handling in this manual, we assume

a) General Information
• The product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of
children and pets.
• Do not leave packaging material lying around
carelessly. This may become dangerous playing
material for children.
• Protect the product from extreme temperatures,
direct sunlight, strong jolts, high humidity,
moisture, flammable gases, steam and solvents.
• Do not place the product under any mechanical
stress.
• If it is no longer possible to operate the product
safely, take it out of operation and protect it from
any accidental use. Safe operation can no longer
be guaranteed if the product:
- is visibly damaged,
- is no longer working properly,
- has been stored for extended periods in poor
ambient conditions or
- has
been
subjected
to
any
transport-related stresses.
• Please handle the product carefully. Jolts, impacts
or a fall even from a low height can damage the
product.
• Consult an expert when in doubt about the
operation, safety or connection of the device.
• Maintenance, modifications and repairs must only
be completed by a technician or an authorised
repair centre.
• If you have questions which remain unanswered by
these operating instructions, contact our technical
support service or other technical personnel.
• For use in commercial institutions, the accident
prevention regulations of the employer's liability
insurance company are to be observed.
• Always wear an appropriate level of protective
personal protective equipment.
• In schools, educational facilities, hobby and DIY
workshops, the product must be operated under
the supervision of qualified personnel.
• The product must not be operated in areas where
explosive or flammable materials, combustible
gases, vapours, dust, or inflammable liquids
(solvents, alcohol, petrol, etc.) are stored. There is
the risk of explosion or fire!
• Only store the product after it has completely
cooled down. There is a danger of burns and fire!
• Operating Instructions
b) Gas Refill
• Use only high quality butane gas (lighter fuel) to
fill the torch. Observe the safety and operating
instructions of the gas cartridge manufacturer.
• Check for gas leaks by smell, or listening for a
hissing noise. If a leak persists, do not ignite or
allow ignition in the vicinity of the tool. Take the
torch to a well ventilated area until the gas has
completely dissipated.
• Danger of explosion! Once filled, the product
contains highly flammable gas under pressure.
It must be kept away from heat sources, heat
(> +40 °C) or direct sunlight.
• Stop refilling once gas starts to overflow. Over
filling may cause the flame to spit. Before lighting
the torch, wait a few minutes for the fuel to
stabilize.
• Make sure the torch is off and the flame is out
before filling.
c) Torch
serious
• Hold the product by the grip. Always handle the
torch so nozzle points away from you and others.
• Never reach into an open flame! Never touch the
hot metal parts of the torch! This will cause serious
burns!
• Never leave the product unattended during use.
This constitutes a fire hazard!
• Do not operate continuously for more than
15 minutes as the housing of the hot-gas burner
could heat up excessively. There is a danger of
burning!
• Never ignite liquid or gaseous fuels (e.g. benzines,
spirits, etc.) with the product. There is a risk of
explosion!
• Many materials give off hazardous vapours when
heated. Always take necessary precautions.
• Never cool the product using water or other liquids.
• Avoid loose fitting clothing. Remove any jewellery,
and contain or tie back long hair.
• Depending on the ambient lighting, the flame may
not be visible.
• Cold temperatures may cause the gas pressure to
drop resulting in a weaker flame.
• Many materials give off hazardous vapours when
heated. Always take necessary precautions.

Gas Refill
Immediately stop the filling process if
any gas escapes. Fill the gas tank in a
well ventilated environment and avoid
naked flames and sparks.
If hot, let the torch cool for 5 minutes
before refilling. There is a risk of
explosion!
• Hold the torch so that the refill valve (11) is facing
up.
• Insert the gas cylinder nozzle into the refill valve
(11) and press down. A complete refill takes about
5-10 seconds.
• The gas tank window (10) indicates the level of gas
in the tank.
Operation
Read the section "Safety Instructions".
Remove the clear plastic cover from
the blow torch before use. Replace the
cover for storage or transport. Do not
replace until the torch has completely
cooled down.
Do not place a hot torch directly onto
a working surface. Use the supplied
stand (13). Align the ports (2) and (5) as
indicated in the "Operating Elements".
This prevents hot exhaust gases from
coming into contact with potentially
flammable material while the torch is in
operation.
a) Ignition
• Hold the product so the nozzle tip (1) is facing
away from you in a safe direction.
• Press safety lock (7), followed by the ignition
button (8) until you feel a "click". This will send a
spark from the piezoelectric ignition mechanism to
ignite the gas.
• If the gas does not ignite, check the fuel level
through the gas tank window (11).
• If the gas volume regulator (14) is at "+" position,
the longer flames may cause the torch to flare
or extinguish. Decrease the flame strength
accordingly. Also make sure the air intake port (5)
is not blocked.
b) Continuous Operation
• Press safety lock (7), followed by the ignition
button (8) until you feel a "click", then hold. After
the flame ignites slide the locking lever to the left
then release the ignition button (8).
• Gas will continue to flow and generate heat.
• To stop the flow of gas, slide the locking lever to
the right.
• Press the ignition button (8) until you feel a "click",
then release

Hot Air Blower for Shrink Tubing
Always use correct wiring technique and
take the necessary precautions when
working with live wires! If in any doubt
contact a specialist.
• If needed, unscrew the collar lock (6) and insert
the hot air blower extension (3) through the blow
torch assembly (4).
• Direct the hot air towards the shrink wrap tubing.
Blow Torch
• If needed, unscrew the collar lock (6) and remove
the hot air blower extension (3) by pushing it
through the blow torch assembly (4).
• Use the minimum flame that will perform the task.
A large flame is less stable and uses more fuel.
Care and Cleaning
• Allow the product to cool down completely before
cleaning.
• Never use aggressive detergents, rubbing
alcohol or other chemical solutions, as these
could damage the casing or cause the product to
malfunction.
• Use a dry, lint-free cloth to clean the product.
