Installation
a) Choosing a Location
•
The camera recording angle and sensor detection is affected by the placement of the device.
•
Consider placing where the solar panels have maximum exposure to sunlight.
•
Check that the device is within range of your Wi-Fi access point. Use of other 2.4 GHz products e.g.
wireless networks and microwave ovens may cause interference.
•
You may need to set up a wireless repeater to improve the connection.
b) Mounting
Check that the provided screws are appropriate for the surface material. If in doubt consult a
professional.
Consider the camera and motion detection angles when choosing a location. Test this before
drilling holes and mounting.
1. Use the holes on the mounting plate as a template to mark where to drill.
2. If needed, insert the plastic dowels using a mallet.
3. Fix the mount to the wall using the supplied screws.
4. Screw the device onto the mount, making sure the rubber gasket forms a good seal around the mount-
ing points.
5. Make sure the device is securely attached to the mounting bracket before letting go.
Operation
A) Power ON
•
Press and hold the power button to turn the camera ON.
B) Pairing mode
•
If the camera is not paired with the app:
- You will hear a voice prompt that the camera is ready to pair.
- The LED status indicator will flash blue.
•
If the camera is already paired with the app:
- The LED status indicator will be solid blue
- The camera will function as usual.
C) Reset the camera
Perform a reset if the camera is not functioning correctly or you would like to enter pairing mode.
1. Insert the included reset pin into the reset hole.
2. Press down until you feel a "click" then hold 4-5 seconds.
3. Stop pressing when you hear the voice prompt "system reset ...".
D) Power OFF
•
If you continue to press and hold reset after the prompt has sounded, the device will power off.
Low light recording
If the camera is placed behind glass, glare from infrared LED lights may overexpose the image.
The device is equipped with a light sensor that automatically triggers "night vision" when ambient
light falls below a certain level.
The recorded image will be in black and white.
Motion detection
•
With a microSD card inserted:
- 15 second clips will be saved until the SD card is full.
- You will receive notifications on your phone
•
If no microSD is inserted, or if the SD card is full:
- No clips will be saved.
- You will receive notifications on your phone, then open the app to view live video (with option to save
to mobile device memory).
Application connection tips
The device will not connect to your Wi-Fi network if the password contains any of the
following characters (" \ ). Please remove those characters from your password if needed.
•
This device is only compatible with 2.4 GHz networks.
•
Have the password for your Wi-Fi router ready.
•
Connect the mobile phone or tablet to same Wi-Fi network the camera will connect to.
Pairing: "Add device" → "Video Surveillance" → "Smart Camera"
Care and cleaning
Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, rubbing alcohol or other chemical solutions as they
can cause damage to the housing and malfunctioning.
•
Clean the product with a fibre-free cloth, slightly dampen if needed.
•
Do not apply excessive force to the solar panels during the cleaning process.
