4. Press the playback key (24) to listen to the tape.
5. With the / stop/eject key you can stop playback.
6. Wind the tape forwards or backwards if necessary in the
direction of the arrow keys

8. If the / stop/eject button is pressed again the fl ap of
the cassette compartment opens.
9. In order to interrupt playback briefl y, press the II pause
button (20). Pressing again continues playback.
Recording Cassettes
1. Insert an audiocassette with the side on which you wish to
record facing forwards (full reel on the right). Ensure that
the cassette is not copy-protected (the copy protection tab
on the top narrow side of the cassette must not have been
removed).
2. Select the source from which you wish to record with the
function switch (6) and then start playback from this source
if necessary. The sound source which you are listening to
is the one from which the recording is made. The recording
level is controlled automatically. Any changes to the sound
and volume do not affect the recording.

3. Please press the record button (25) (the
button is automatically pressed down at the same time).
Recording now begins. All previous recordings are automati-
cally erased.
Note: When you sing via the microphone during CD play-
back your singing is also recorded.
4. The recording can be interrupted briefl y using the II pause
key (20), or stopped by means of the
button (21).

Playing CDs/MP3

This is how you play a CD
1. Turn the function selector switch (6) to the CD/USB/CARD
position".
2. Please open the CD compartment (11) by pressing the
PUSH/OPEN button (12).
3. Insert a CD with the printed side facing forwards and close
the CD deck.
4. If the letters USB / CARD light up in the display, hold the
II (14) button down for approximately 3 seconds until the
letters USB / CARD go off. The device is now in CD mode.
5. The CD will play from the fi rst title. The track currently being
played, or MP3 are shown in the display (13).
6. In order to remove a CD, please press the
open the CD compartment PUSH/OPEN (12) and lift the CD
out carefully.
Always keep the CD deck closed.
Note: If a disc is incorrectly inserted - or no disc has been inser-
ted - the symbol „- - -"and the word „no" appear in the display.

Note: Playback of CDs produced by the user cannot be
guaranteed due to the large variety of software and CD media
available.
Description of the CD buttons
II (Play/Pause) (14)
1. You can briefl y interrupt and resume playback using this
button. The symbol fl ashes in the display. Pressing again
continues playback.
2. USB CD switching:
• Hold the button down for approximately 3 seconds until
the letters USB light up in the display. The device is now
in USB mode.
• Hold the button down for approximately 3 seconds until
the letters USB disappear from the display. The device
is now in CD mode.
I / DIR- / I / DIR+ (16/15)
With an audio CD or a CD in MP3 format playing:
With I / DIR+ (15) you can jump to the next or previous
track etc.
• If the button is kept pressed down, the machine starts to
search through the tracks.
• If the button is kept pressed down in stop mode the machine
quickly plays through the songs until the desired track is
reached. When the II (14) button is pressed the track
begins to play back.
The I / DIR- button (16) can be used as follows:
Press once = This starts the current track again from the
beginning.
Press twice = This jumps back to the previous track.
Press three times = This plays the song before etc. If the button
is kept pressed down, the machine starts
to search through the tracks. If the button
is kept pressed down in stop mode the
machine quickly plays through the songs
until the desired track is reached. When the
II (14) button is pressed the track begins
to play back.
Selecting a Folder (Only for CDs in MP3 format)
In order to select a folder directly, please proceed as follows:
1. Press the key (17).
2. Hold the MODE key (10) down for approx. 3 seconds until
the word ALBUM and the number of folders fl ash in the
display.
3. While the display is fl ashing you can use the I
I / DIR+ keys (16/15) to select the individual folders.
4. Then press the II key (14) to start playback.
Note: If the inserted MP3 CD does not contain any folders,
„ALBUM 000" fl ashes in the display.
