an expert or a specialist workshop and let them carry out the installation!
Incorrect installation can cause damage to the plug-in card and also to your
computer and all connected devices.
Caution, lethal hazard!
Switch off all connected devices and the computer in which the plug-in card is
to be installed and disconnect all devices from the mains voltage by removing
the plug from the mains! Just turning off at the on/off switch is not enough!

If there are screws or other means of fi xation provided, fasten the plug-in card with screws or
clips.
• Connect the included mains cable for the plug-in card to the mains outlet (3, then you connect
it to the available free plug on the network card of your PC.
• Connect the two fl at plugs of the RS232 cable with the pin strips (1 and 2) on the plug-in card.
Make sure that the fl at plugs are correctly inserted.

Driver installation
• After Windows has started, it recognises the plug-in card automatically as new hardware.
• Insert the CD provided in the appropriate drive on your computer. Alternatively you may copy
the driver software on a memory stick from another computer; that is if your computer does
not have a disk drive.
• At the moment of publishing these instructions, the driver for the plug-in card was in the direc-
tory "PCIe IO", subdirectory "OXPCIe".
A restart of Windows may be required after that, before the RS232 ports of the plug-
in card function properly.
Tips & Notes
• Only connect RS232 devices when the computer and the RS232 devices are switched off.
Otherwise, in some cases, the RS232 device as well as the plug-in card might be damaged!
• The interface name (e.g. COM3) is assigned automatically by Windows.
• Many notebooks have a separate Mini-PCIe slot, this is often used by the WLAN module.
In theory the plug-in card could be inserted here (after dismounting the WLAN module).
This, however, is not possible because of the cabling and the mains supply for the RS232
interface.
Disposal
Dispose of an unserviceable product in accordance with the relevant statutory
regulations.
