Installing the water cooling system
Do not cut apart the provided tubes yet. Install the engine in the vehicle first. Then
find suitable installation places for the water tank and the cooler. Now measure
the needed tube lengths.
Caution, risk of scalding! Only refill the tank when the water in the cooling circuit
has cooled down sufficiently. Hot water could spurt out when the cap on the water
tank is opened.
Only use distilled water or tap water to fill the tank.
When installing the tubes, make sure that they are not bent, squeezed or
damaged by sharp edges.
Proceed as follows to install the water cooling system:
• First install the engine in the vehicle if you have not already done so.
• The water tank must be positioned a little higher up inside the vehicle, ideally on a level with
the engine heat sink (see illustration).
• The cooler is ideally installed in front of the front shock tower. If the shock tower is made of
aluminium, it serves as an additional large cooling surface.
Our tip: A piece of heat-conducting foil (as is used with some heat sinks in computers)
enhances heat transfer between the cooler and the aluminium shock tower.

• Now connect the engine, the water tank and the cooler using the provided tubes.
The upper connection (1) of the engine is connected to the rear connection (2) of the water
tank.
The provided check valve (7) must be inserted in between.
Make sure that the check valve is aligned correctly so that the water can flow from the
connection (2) to the motor connection (1)! If necessary, blow some air through the check
valve to find out the correct alignment.
• The lower connection (3) of the engine is connected to the cooler (4). The second connection
of the cooler (5) is connected to the connection (6) on the side of the water tank.

Make sure that the connections of the engine heat sink only point to the side or the front. They
must never point to the rear.

• Open the cap of the water tank and fill the tank
with clear, clean and cold tap water. You can use
distilled water alternatively.
• When the water tank is filled up, put the cap back
on to close it.
• Hold the vehicle in an upright position so that the
engine is at the bottom and the water tank is at
the top. This allows water to get into the heat sink
head. The air escapes.
Wait a short while before putting the car down
again in a horizontal position. Refill the tank with
water.
Repeat this process until the air has escaped
from the tubes and the heat sink head.
• Check the water level in the water tank regularly
and refill it if necessary.
