3. Operation

The FAZ 3000-FB has three keys as well as an LED. The LED illumi-
nates during transmission of the radio signals.
The three keys have the following functions:
„disarm" key
· Switches the alarm unit to "deactivated" In the "deactivated" oper-
ating mode all sensors are deactivated (including the smoke alarm).
One can move around the house freely without setting the alarm
off.
· If an alarm occurs it can be terminated using the "deactivated" key.
Pressing again deletes the alarm memory.
„intern arm" key
· Switches the alarm unit to „intern arm". The „intern arm" function
implements an external skin safety if one requires protection against
intruders from outside (e.g. at night). One can move around freely
inside whilst the external skin, e.g. doors/windows is monitored.
· If a disturbance occurs or a magnetic contact is not closed (e.g.
window open) then switching to activated on initial operation is not
permitted. Only the second operation switches forcefully to „intern
arm".
„ext. arm" key
· Switches the alarm unit to „extern arm". The „extern arm" function
is used to monitor the house when vacant, i.e. the internal rooms
are also monitored.
· If a disturbance occurs or a magnetic contact is not closed (e.g.
window open) then switching to activated on initial operation is not
permitted. Only the second operation switches forcefully to „extern
arm".
