Installation, operating and maintenance instructions for hinge doors
"DuoPort 700 h/c"

Installation instructions

Incorrect installation renders the door manufacturer's liability null
and void.
- Installation by qualified installers only -
Please read these instructions carefully prior to installation.
Intended use of garage doors
Garage doors are intended for installation in areas accessed by
persons in privately used garages and they are used to enable safe
approach of consignments and vehicles, accompanied or driven by
people, in residential areas.
Although garage doors are tested according to national and international
stands and manufactured in accordance with the state of the art, they can
pose hazards.
Use of the doors is classified as improper particularly in the following
cases:
 Their use does not conform to the intended use
 Improper repair or improper servicing, particularly when performed by
incompetent persons
 Exertion of loads exceeding normal manual force on the handle
 Use of inappropriate or incorrectly adjusted locking devices or opera-
tors
 Installation or attachment of improper components and parts in or to
the door, the door leaves, the locking system (locks, strike plates)
and/or modification of the original delivery status of these parts
 Changes to or modifications of the doors or its components
 Simultaneous operation of the handle and the key
 Inserting fingers between the door leaf and frame when closing the
door
 Failure to observe the assembly, operating and maintenance instruc-
tions, respective country-specific standards and guidelines as well as
applicable safety regulations
 The door is not in a technically and operationally perfect condition
 Door elements are not children's toys
The door element is not suitable for use by persons (including children)
with limited mental, physical or sensory capacities or a lack of experience
or knowledge.
A door element is not suitable for use as a load-bearing component.
Installation must be carried out vertically to ensure that the hinge axes
are in a vertical position.
General information:
"DuoPort 700 h/c" double leaf hinged doors are intended for manually
operated use.
They must NOT be power operated!
The door must be operated with a self-acting locking device for the open
end position of both leaves.
We can provide suitable locking devices [1.60a]; alternatively they can be
executed – according to structural conditions - on site, example [1.60b].
Operation of the door – particularly models opening outwards – in
windy conditions can be dangerous!
Scope of delivery:
Door element [1.05] consists of
Pair of door leafs, cardboard box with frame parts and accessory sets
(AS) [1.10a]
These installation, operating, and maintenance instructions must be (handed over to the operator and) securely kept for the entire service life of the door.
Before commencing installation, make sure you have
 Two persons
 The following tools:
Measuring tape (5m), spirit level, hammer drill with bits 10mm (metal
drill drilling depth min. 75 mm, stone drill drilling depth min. 130 mm),
hammer, wedges, Phillips screwdriver, alternatively cordless screw-
driver with screwdriver bit PH 2 and PZ 3, Allen key SW 3, 4 and 6
preferably with spherical head, ...
 Fastening and filling material suitable for the structural conditions.
Caution: Prior to use, please make sure the frame dowel plugs
included in the delivery are suitable for the structural conditions.
Characteristic values in case of suitability and use:
- Drill diameter 10 mm
- Borehole depth (wall) ≥ 55 mm,
- Anchoring depth (wall) ≥ 40 mm,
- Tightening torque = 8 Nm
 Elastic joint seal, where appropriate additional sealing cord, as sealant
between frame and structure
Important:
 The garage door must be mounted in the finished opening and on
the finished floor!
 To be on the safe side, please compare the dimensions of the installa-
tion opening/garage with the co-ordinating size of the door PRIOR TO
commencing installation [1.15].
- Opening dimensions for installation BEHIND the opening:
Min. opening width = Co-ordinating width (co-ord. width)
Min. opening height = Co-ordinating height (co-ord. height)
Min. rebate width right/left/top = 25 mm
 Min. garage width = Co-ord. width + 50 mm [1.15a]
Min. garage height = Co-ord. height + 25 mm [1.15c]
- Opening dimensions for installation IN the opening
Min. opening width/garage width = Co-ord. width + 50 mm [1.15b]
Min. opening height/garage height = Co-ord. height + 25 mm [1.15d]
 Make sure the delivery is complete PRIOR TO commencing installation.
Assembly
M1 Pre-assembly of frame
M1a Scope of delivery [1.10a,b,c], preparation [1.20a]
M1b application of corner brackets subject to profile type [1.20b]
M1c Assembly of corner joints [1.20c1-3], please consider [1.20d] !
M1d Threshold assembly [1.25a1-3]
( i ): difference inside / outside opening version
M1e Insert seal, optionally use slip agent, do not stretch, trim to
suitable length [1.25b]
M1f Pre-assembly of frame hinge parts [1.25c] and pre adjustage
of upper frame hinge parts [1.30a]
M2 If provided turn-in anchors are used, insert them into the wide
groove on the outside of the frame profiles, number and positions
according to [1.30b].
M3 Place frame behind or into the installation opening according to the
intended opening direction and secure it against tilting over.
Align the vertical frame bars vertically and the frame crossbar hori-
zontally, and measure the diagonals as a check [1.35a].
M4 Fastening
M4a If turn-in anchors (AS) are used:
Bend anchors at the provided kink points up to the wall sur-
face, drill dowel holes and fasten anchors with the aid of suita-
ble dowels [1.35a]. Underlay frame at fixation points – at least
near hinges / upper locking point – with pressure-proof filling
material against the structure opening.
M4b In case of direct assembly with frame plug dowels (AS):
First drill through the frame with metal drill Ø10 in the frame on
the score line, then drill dowel holes in the masonry with stone
drill Ø10, number and position according to [1.35b].
Clean drill holes, insert/drive dowel plug through the frame into
the drill hole, insert pressure-proof filling material under the
frame at the fastening points towards the wall, apply assembly
torque with the aid of a screwdriver, alternatively a cordless
screwdriver with screwdriver bit PZ 3, attach caps [1.35b].
