4. TUBA SUPPORT

The tuba support on the extension tube can be basically

twisted, this is convenient when playing a lively tempo.

NOTE: When moving or transporting the stand please
consider that the support and the base may unintentionally
separate from each other. Therefore, it is safer always to
hold both parts simultaneously.
5. STAND and INSTRUMENT
5.1 PLACING THE TUBA IN THE SUPPORT
NOTE: The support d is thickly rubberised and rounded
everywhere. Nevertheless: careless placing of the tuba
may represent a hazard which must be avoided.
5.1.1 Place the tuba in the support slowly and in a

controlledmanner. Particular attention must be

paid to the correctalignment of the tuba: coming
5.1.1
vertically from above, it should lean centred in
5.1.1
the curvature of the support.
5.1.2 Under no circumstances should it plop in one of the

4 "corners", then this could lead to dents in the

sheet metal.
5.2 PLAYING THE TUBA ON THE STAND

The stand carries and positions the instrument,

but it should always additional be held by the player.

This is only a performer stand; it is not a rest for the

instrument (like the K&M-14940).
6. HEIGHT
The height (450-800 mm) can be changed by means of the:
6.1 EXTENSION TUBE: for procedure see chapter 3

- Traverse path max. 250 mm
6.2 BASE: See chapter 2 for procedure
- Traverse path max. approx. 100 mm
NOTE: Changes to the extension tube and/or base
must always be carried out in unloaded condition.
7. DIMENSIONS
MAINTENANCE, CLEANING
- Always carry out maintenance in unloaded condition
- Regularly check:
- a. proper condition of the components (defective parts

have to be replaced or repaired)
- b. tight fit of all screw connections
- Pay attention to possible hazards like bumping,

overturning, squeezing during maintenance work
- For cleaning use a slightly damp cloth and a non-abrasive

cleaning agent
