Carrying out the installation


Danger of injury due to electric
shock.
Touching live components may result
in injury.
Do not connect the XCI adapter to
the Miele machine and the payment
system until the end of the process.
Maintenance and repair work must
only be carried out by a suitably
qualified electrician in accordance
with all appropriate local and national
safety requirements.
The connection cable for the payment
system must be attached to the XCI ad-
apter using the cable gland and cable
strain relief: images [7] to [9a].
Tip: It can be attached on either the
left-hand  or right-hand  side: im-
age [7].
 Using a screwdriver, press out the
round indentation in the connection
hole: image [8].
Tip: Pierce through the groove round
the edge at several places using a
screwdriver.
 Insert the counter nuts: arrow in im-
age [9].
 Screw on the threaded fitting.
Tip: Slide the screw cap over the end of
the connection cable for the external
hardware.
 Guide the connection cable through
the threaded fitting.
 Tighten the screw cap on the
threaded fitting.

The screw cap provides protection
against moisture and dust.
 Secure the connection cable with the
strain relief provided  on the inside
on the right: image [9a].
The cable strain relief must be used
regardless of which side the connec-
tion cable is inserted on.
 Install the payment system: see the
"Installing the payment system" sec-
tion.
 Close the covers on the XCI adapter.
Once you have confirmed that the ad-
apter has been mounted correctly, es-
tablish the connections to the machine
and the payment system.
When connecting external hardware
provided by other manufacturers, the
cable cross-section must not be less

than 1.0 mm with a maximum cable
length of 2.50 m (98 ¹/₃").
