Procedure
(Left hinge application HTK530LS, LW, LE)
Caution
To avoid personal injury, protect hands and
arms.
Caution
To avoid personal injury or property damage,
two people should remove and rehang each
door.
Important
• Save screws and reuse.
• Permanent, double-sided tape is used to attach
trim pieces. Before removing paper backing,
check placement of trim pieces on door. Trim
pieces may be damaged if adjustment or removal
is attempted after installation.
1. Remove top hinge cover, discard hinge cover.
2. Remove top hinge by removing screws with a
8 mm hex nut driver. Discard top hinge.
3. Remove refrigerator door by lifting door off center
hinge pin. Turn refrigerator door upside down,
resting on protective pad to prevent damage.
Caution
To prevent personal injury or property
damage from refrigerator door falling, have
second person hold door while removing top
hinge.

4. Lift door closure off center hinge pin. Remove center
hinge pin with a 7 mm hex nut driver. (See hinge
illustration above).
5. Remove freezer door by lifting door off bottom hinge
pin. Turn freezer door upside down, resting on
protective pad to prevent damage. Support rod will
be loose when removing door.
6. Remove bottom hinge door closure and pin by
removing screw with a Phillips screwdriver.
• If there is a shim beneath the door closure,
discard trim.

7. Remove toe grille by grasping each end and pulling
forward.
8. Remove plastic plug on left side of left bottom
hinge. From underneath hinge, squeeze tabs
together with needle nose pliers and lift. Replace
plug on right side of right bottom hinge.

9. Replace toe grille by snapping in place.
10. Replace door closure and pin on left side of left
bottom hinge. Insert and tighten screw with a
Phillips screwdriver.
11. Remove left cabinet plugs on center mullion by
placing a putty knife covered with masking tape
underneath plug and pulling forward.
12. Remove center hinge bracket by removing screws
using a Phillips screwdriver. Rotate center hinge
bracket and install bracket on left side of
refrigerator. Install cabinet plugs on right side.
13. Remove door stop and all screws from bottom
of refrigerator door with a Phillips screw driver.
14. Install refrigerator door bottom trim with 6 mm
phillips screws. Use inner set of center holes for
alignment. Install door stop in opposite side of door.
Install and tighten remaining screws.
