Procedure
(Right hinge application HTK530RS, RW, RE)
Caution
To avoid personal injury, protect hands and
arms by wearing gloves.
Caution
To avoid personal injury or property damage,
two people should remove and rehang each
door.
A qualified engineer must install this kit in accordance
with these installation instructions. Measure panel
dimensions to ensure they are correct.
Proper installation will ensure that this refrigerator
operates most efficiently. Amana Appliances can not be
responsible for improper installation.
Important
• For left hinged refrigerators proceed to page 5.
• Save screws and reuse.
• Permanent, double-sided tape is used to
attach trim pieces. Before removing paper
backing, check placement of trim pieces on door.
Trim pieces may be damaged if adjustment or
removal is attempted after installation.
1. Remove top hinge cover and discard hinge cover.
2. Remove top hinge by removing screws with a
8 mm hex nut driver. Discard top hinge.
(See hinge illustration below).
Caution
To prevent personal injury or property
damage from refrigerator door falling, have
second person hold door while removing top
hinge.

3. Remove refrigerator door by lifting door off center
hinge pin. Turn refrigerator door upside down, resting
on protective pad.

4. Lift door closure off center hinge pin. (See hinge
illustration). Remove center hinge pin with a 7 mm
hex nut driver.
5. Remove freezer door by lifting door off bottom hinge
pin. Turn freezer door upside down, resting on
protective pad to prevent damage. Support rod will
be loose when removing freezer door.
6. Remove door stops from refrigerator and freezer
doors by removing screws with a Phillips
screwdriver. Save door stop.
• If there is a shim beneath the bottom hinge door
closure, remove the phillips screw and door
closure. Discard shim and re-install door closure
and phillips screw.
7. Reinstall refrigerator door stop and bottom trim with
6 mm Phillips screws using outer set of center
holes for alignment. Bottom trim will have 2 sets of
oblong holes and 2 sets of round screw holes.
• HTK530LS and HTK530RS kits come with a silver
door stop for use with refrigerator door.

8. Reinstall freezer door stop and new trim using same
screws that were removed previously. Bottom trim
will have 2 sets of round holes on each end and 1
set of round holes in middle.

Important

damaged if adjustment or removal is attempted after
installation.
9. Install new freezer handle using 6 mm hex head
screws provided with kit. Install new freezer handle
insert by placing the insert's top tab in slot
