Do not alter the boat's electrical system or associated diagrams. Only a skilled boat
electrician is allowed to modify and service the system.

5.9 Handling characteristics

5.9.1
The maximum rated engine power of the boat is 221 kW (300 hp).
Do not operate the boat if the actual engine power exceeds the power indicated on
the builder's plate.
The engines feature an electro-hydraulic trim function (Power Trim). The basic rules
for adjusting the trim angle are as follows:
 Adjust the power trim to the 'bow down' setting when planing the boat.
 When the boat is planing and the wave height is low, the bow should be raised
 When the boat is riding into waves, the bow should be lowered until the ride
 Do not drive the boat at a high speed when the engine's trim angle is negative
 Be careful when driving the boat into side-on waves at high speed, because
 If the boat falls on its bow when riding with a tailwind, the boat may change
Please also consult the engine manual.
Outboard engines are usually designed to be mounted at a height that aligns the
engine's cavitations plate with the boat's keel.

Driving at a high speed

until the boat starts to porpoise, the propeller loses grip or the engine is
nearing the upper limit of the normal adjustment range. When this happens,
lower the bow slightly until the ride is stable. The log (speed indicator) can be
used to optimise the trim angle for the best speed.
becomes smooth. When driving with a tailwind or driving into very high waves
the bow should be raised slightly to avoid ploughing through the waves.
and the bow is down, because this may cause the boat to roll from side to side
and steering may become unstable.
the waves may cause the boat to swing.
heading unexpectedly or the bow may plunge into the wave.
Be very careful when adjusting the power trim angle at high
speed: it may affect the boat's behaviour dramatically. The
bow should not be set too low, because this may cause the
boat to turn rapidly.
Sudden turns may result in loss of control. Slow down before
making a sharp turn in either direction.
Waves may make steering the boat more difficult and cause
the boat to bank or roll. Reduce speed when wave height
increases.
