In its extended position, the shield must cover the chin and upper neck
(see "Centring and donning position"). In addition, the helmet and shield
must be worn with other insulating protection equipment.
• To retract the shield, unlock it by pushing the red lever forward and
upwards until it stops.
ADJUSTING THE CHINSTRAP
The IDRA 2 helmet comes with a 4-point chinstrap equipped with a
retainer that can be fitted to wearer's head size. The user must always
adjust the helmet so that it can be worn without discomfort while assuring
a perfect helmet-head fit to prevent accidental tipping or shifting, which
could adversely affect protection efficiency. Warning: for your safety, the
chinstrap is designed to automatically release between 15 and 25 kg; the
4 anchor points should not be under tensile stress.
BEFORE DAILY USE
Before each use, a careful visual inspection must be performed. The
inspection should concentrate on the various helmet components: both
shells and their retainers, internal harness, and presence of shield and
chinstrap. Moreover, the user must verify the mechanical resistance of the
components by operating the shield at least once.
RECOMMENDATIONS
• Insulating helmets must not be used in situations where there is a risk
that their insulating may be adversely affected.
• The helmet is designed so that the energy developed during an impact is
absorbed by the partial destruction or deterioration of the shell and the
harness; even if such damage is not immediately apparent, replace
the helmet after a major shock, on presence of cracks, scratches,
or chemical damage.

CAUTION
To preserve the elasticity of the shield locking
catch, it is imperative that the shield always and
exclusively rests in either its retracted or extended
position.
