Operation
Clean the protective sticker (9), the underside of the apparatus and the measuring
tip and mount and/or check the clamping piece (19).
Clean the work surface and workpiece and align all parts. There should be no
contamination or foreign matter on the measuring surfaces or the workpiece.
Loosen the clamp screw (7) and the clamping lever (6) and switch on the
apparatus by pressing the ON/ZERO button (14) or by moving the slide. Set the
zero point at the desired location using the ON/ZERO button. If you press the
ON/ZERO button, the zero point will be set at the current position of the measuring
tip.
Some measuring setups require the use of blocks to position the measuring device
or workpiece. The height of these blocks measured by the apparatus can be added
to or subtracted from the measured value using the ADD and SUB buttons (15/16).
Bring the measuring tip into contact with the workpiece and read the value from the
display. Do not use excessive force so as not to distort the measured value. You
can fix the slide with the clamping lever (6) or the clamp screw (7) to facilitate
reading.
Changing the battery
Open the battery compartment and replace the button battery with a new one of
type LR44 / AG13. Make sure the polarity is correct; the positive pole must point
towards the battery compartment cover.
Maintenance and Storage
Do not use aggressive chemicals, solvents or abrasives to clean the device. Do not
immerse the device in any type of liquids and do not allow liquids to penetrate into
the housing.
Store the device in the box supplied in a place protected from direct sunlight, dust,
moisture, extreme temperatures and vibrations. Keep the device out of the reach of
children.
