SAFETY RULES
For the operator's safety, we recommend as follows and to read the
instructions carefully before using the unit:
1.
Disconnect
power
disconnecting the connections from the battery.
2.
During the charge, batteries can produce explosive gas.
Avoid sparks or flames –provide a proper ventilation during
the charge. Don't smoke.
3.
To ensure protection against indirect contacts, connect the
device only to a socket having an earth connection
4.
Do not expose the unit to rain or snow.
5.
Connecting clamps and battery terminals should always be
kept clean.
6.
Absolutely avoid reverting polarities.
7.
Among this charger-starter's components there are
switches or relays which can cause electric arcs or sparks;
therefore, if the device is used in a garage or similar
places, place the starter-charger in a safe area or in a
package suitable to this purpose.
8.
Do not recharge unrechargeble batteries.
9.
Don't pull cables. Don't transport the charger raising it by
the cables.
10. The use of batterie charger it is forbidden to children and
to people not trained
This set cannot be used from people ( children included)
with low phisical or mental faculties . Children cannot play
with this set.
11. Do not connect or disconnect clamps of battery charger
when it is working.
12. Please place battery charger in stable position when it is
working.
TECHNICAL FEATURES
The products of this series are devices suitable to charge and start a
lead-acid batteries with electrolytic liquid. They are all supplied by
an AC (alternating current) 1ph 230V - 50Hz current.
This charger is supplied with mains cable and positive (red) and
negative (black) charging clamps.
The charging current delivered by the battery decreases according
to the characteristic W bend - see the DIN 41774 norm.
CAR BATTERY CHARGE
Please connect clamps when power cable is disconnected.
Open tops of battery.
Battery is not installed :
1.
connect red clamp (+) to positive pole.
2.
Connect black clamp (-) to negative pole ( it is smaller of
positive pole)
3.
Connect the power cord to a 230 V outlet with earth
4.
when charge is made, disconnect first the power cord

The length of charge can approximately be worked out by dividing
the capacity in amps per hour of the battery by the charge current I
.
For instance for a battery of 80Ah capacity and with I
have: 80/10 = 8 hours charging time. At the end of the charge, the
charge indicator will move gradually towards the minimum.
The charger has a thermostatic protection which switches itself on
when the temperature of the transformer's windings exceeds the set
maximum temperature, in such case, the pointer of the
amperometer will go to minimum position indicating that the charge
is being interrupted. In order to restore the charge process, waiting
few minutestime for cooling and push the button on the front panel
with the "push to reset" written (where expected).
SIMULTANEOUS CHARGES OF SEVERAL BATTERIES
To charge more than one battery simultaneously, connect them in
series or in parallel. Among the two procedures, the connection in
series is preferable, as it allows the user to check that the current in
each battery corresponds to that indicated by the ammeter. (Set the
capacity to the lowest capacity of the two batteries and the charging
voltage to the sum of the battery voltages). To stop the charge,
disconnect as per the following sequence: the mains, the negative
terminal, the positive terminal.
In case of malfunction, carry out the following:
1.
Ensure that the clamps are connected to the correct and
appropriates terminals;
2.
See that the mains plug is properly connected and wired.
3.
Check that the charger-starter's thermostatic protection has
not switched on. If problems persists, contact a qualified
technician.
N.B.:
If the charger's mains cable becomes damaged, it must be
replaced exclusively by a qualified workshop as special tools are
required for this operation.
GENERAL INFORMATIONS ABOUT CHARGER - BOOSTERS
1.
The charger starter is a device capable to deliver high
current for short period of time. Therefore, you must never
insist too much on the starting because these are risks to
damage either the engine starter either the charger - starter
itself.
Every charger starter indicates always the maximum
current which is able to deliver; by consequence when you
choose a charger starter you must verify that the maximum
starting current corresponds to the starting current of the
battery.
For example if the battery fitted into the vehicle is an 88Ah
battery, its starting current (if it is not already indicated) is
included in a range between 3 and 3,5 times its nominal
