Compression fitting SpeedFIX 15
for copper, precision steel and stainless steel with a wall thickness ≥ 1 mm
(DIN EN 1057 / DIN EN 10 305-2 and DIN EN 10 312)
HUMMEL AG
Lise-Meitner-Straße 2
79211 Denzlingen / Germany
Assembly instruction
1. Cut and burr the connection pipe straightly. Slip union nut loosely over
connection pipe.
2. Insert connection pipe up against the lip of the connection, then tighten up
the union nut with an open-ended wrench SW 30 mm to its fixed stop.
Important advice – please note:
Changes in temperature lead to mechanical forces at the compression fittings. If those forces are not correctly
supported it can lead to leaking, as well as to coming out of the pipes. To support the compression fittings
against expansion caused by thermal loads and / or tensile loads of the pipes, they should be fixed to the
wall at 20 cm before the last connection bend to the radiator with fixed point conductive clamps. Temporary
joints are generally not intended for flush installations and floor constructions (under or in screed area).
Should this application be inevitable, these connections must be installed in accessible areas of inspection
openings. In addition, the instructions of the pipe manufacturers or system providers, as well as their assembly
instructions / installation instructions must be followed.
In parallel the accepted technical rules and standards apply: DIN 1988 / DIN EN 806 / DIN EN 1717 /
DIN 12828 / DIN 14336 / DIN EN 16313 / DIN 18380 / DIN EN ISO 228-1 / VDI 2035/ DVGW – Arbeitsblatt
W 534 / AGFW – Arbeitsblatt FW 510. HUMMEL compression fittings meet the functional dimensions of
DIN EN 16313. By combining a HUMMEL compression fitting with a third party product, it has to be assured
that it is also manufactured according to DIN EN 16313.
Installation advice
Removable connection with external pipe thread
and thread undercut
Use the euro-cone compatible connection nipple:
G 1/2 x G 3/4:
G 1/2 x M 22:
These conditions are not always met by some products of other manufacturers.
Therefore, always use HUMMEL original parts.
General technical information
Our products are dedicated to heating systems for buildings independent of their way of heating.
Threaded joints & connection fittings
• Maximum operating pressure: 10 bar
• Maximum operating temperature: 120 °C
To avoid damage and scale formation, the composition of the heat transfer medium should conform to VDI
(The Association of German Engineers) guideline 2035. For industry and district heating plants, the AGFW-
Arbeitsblatt guideline FW 510 is to be observed. Mineral oils contained in the heat-transfer medium (alternatively,
Neo-Fermit and other lubricants of the type that contain mineral oil) cause swelling and, in most cases, the
breakdown of EPDM sealings. The compatibility with regard to EPDM sealings in the use of heating water
additives can be seen in the producer's manuals.
The threads of HUMMEL threaded joints are, unless stated otherwise, manufactured according to
DIN EN ISO 228-1.
