Product Design

The product consists of resistance heating
wire which is embedded in Polymer Insulation
that also forms the outer sheath. Additionally
metallic braid for mechanical and electrical
protection may be used. The product is pre-
assembled with seamless cold leads so the
heating zones are marked by color or
shrinking tubes. It is important to determine
the right size (length) of the product. It should
be chosen so it results in no overlapping or
shortage
when
installed.

The products are designed in 2 versions:
Type IT-KDL-SL is a designed parallel zone
heating cable consisting of two parallel
aligned copper conductors insulated with
silicone rubber. The heating wire is spirally
wound around the insulation of the two
conductors. The heating wire gets in contact
with the conducter at every 1000 mm to form
the heating zones. Not in contact at both ends
and terminated accordingly the section stays
cold. This cold lead is therefore preset to a
maximum of 950 mm when delivered. The end
seal is provided with a eye-let for installation
and the heating section is marked by shrinking
tubes.
If desired and necessary this product can be
delivered as a IT-KDL-SLS version with a
copper-nickel metal braid for additional
mechanical and eletrical protection.
