Coding Architect
The world is becoming increasingly digital; children come into contact with digital
media at an increasingly early age and this presents them with new challenges. They
may grow up as "digital natives", but many of them lack the basic understanding and
knowledge of how computers work.
The Digital Starter range teaches children this knowledge through play, based on the
principle of "learning by doing". Practical experience makes it easier for them for learn.
Using high-quality materials and accessible games that use many of their senses,
children are introduced step-by-step to fundamental computer processes.
In "Digital Starter – Coding Architect", by playing with a tablet with 36 coordinates
fields, 31 wooden blocks, and 30 template cards with the solution on the back,
children learn that coding / programming means giving a computer commands using
a code which the computer then carries out and processes step-by-step. Together
with computer experts Cody and his sister Pixi, children play a game in which they
assume the role of the computer: They follow the code's commands listed on the
cards, building the secret structures step-by-step using the coded blueprints!
However, this programming language is not comprised of complicated text
commands, but of blocks to be placed using the illustrations, and the coordinates of
the fields on which they are placed. In the next stage, players can become Coding
Architects, designing amazing buildings and describing them using coded blueprints
which their friends can then decode and re-construct.
Contents:
· 31 wooden blocks (2 crenellated roof sections, 2 rainbow roofs, 2 conical roofs, 2
cylinders / towers, 2 door sections, 3 stair sections, 18 building cubes in 8 colors)
· 1 Game board with 36 coordinates fields ("coordinates map")
· 30 template cards "Place Codes" (9 x13 cm, 10 of each in 3 difficulty levels)
· 179 coding cards (block and coordinates cards)
· 1 tablet
· 10 plastic bags
· 1 set of instructions
Do you know Pixi and Cody? They are brother and sister, twins in fact, but they
are not at all similar! Pixi is cheeky and curious. Cody prefers to go slowly and
think things through. They do have one thing in common, though: they are both

really good with computers. Pixi wants to find out
everything that a computer can do, whereas Cody
wants to understand exactly how it works and
spends ages fiddling about with computer pro-
grams. Does that sound complicated to you? Do
you not know very much about how a compu-
ter works? Don't worry, Cody and Pixi were
exactly the same. They will explain it all to
you, step by step, and it will all become clear!
