DMX Linking

The Ovation GR-1 Adapter will work with a DMX controller using a 5-pin DMX serial connection. A DMX Primer is
available from www.chauvetprofessional.com.
Master/Slave Connection
The Ovation GR-1 Adapter uses the DMX data connection for its master/slave mode. The Master/Slave mode allows an
Ovation GR-1 Adapter (the master) to control one or more Ovation GR-1 Adapter products (the slaves) without a DMX
controller. One Ovation GR-1 Adapter becomes the master when running Gobo Rotator mode. You must configure each
slave's control panel to operate in Slave mode. During Master/Slave operation, the slaves will operate in unison with the
master.
RDM (Remote Device Management)
Remote Device Management, or RDM, is a standard for allowing DMX-enabled devices to communicate bi-directionally
along existing DMX cabling. Check the DMX controller's User Manual or with the manufacturer as not all DMX controllers
have this capability. The Ovation GR-1 Adapter supports RDM protocol that allows feedback to make changes to menu
map options.
Mounting
Before mounting this product, read the
Product Mounting Diagram
Unscrew mounting clamp from the Ovation GR-1
Adapter
Connect the power cable from the fixture to the
Ovation GR-1 Adapter and the power/data cable
to the Ovation GR-1 IP.
