MORDAZAS DE ALTA PRESION
Operating features :
Set up is accomplished by turning the spindle which moves the movable jaw toward the work
piece. The Pneumo-Hydraulic spindle is actuated by means of either a manual slide valve or a
remote actuating valve. When the valve is opened, pressurized air enters the chamber between
the air piston (614) and the cylinder cap (618). This air pushes the air piston (614) into the hydraulic
chamber and creates hydraulic pressure. The pressure produced by the oil pushes the large
piston/pushrod (607) forward.
The large piston/push rod, through the pressure plate (628), moves the movable jaw (033) to the
work piece and applies the clamping pressure. When the air pressure is released, the clamping
E
pressure is released and the movable jaw (033) moves away from the work piece.
Operating instructions :
Insert work piece between the jaws (036). Turn spindle until the work piece is touched. Back off
the spindle two to three millimetres. When air pressure is applied, the spindle will move the movable
jaw (033) against the work piece.
Assembly of the air cylinder :
1. Place O-ring (616) into the cylinder cap (618).
2. Screw the cylinder cap (618) into the air cylinder (611) until holes line up so that the set
screw (431) can be installed.
3. Put the piston screw (613) and the piston nut (617) into the piston (614).
4. Place the piston assembly into the air cylinder (611) with the piston nut (617) toward the
cylinder cap (618) until it is against the cap.
Assembly of the hydraulic cylinder :
1. Put filters (411) into the hydraulic cylinder (606).
2. Place the small seal (011) into the hole in the cylinder with the lip of the seal toward the
inside.
3. Place the large seal (409) into the cylinder with the lip of the seal toward the small seal.
4. Place the large piston/pushrod (607) into the cylinder, push it down to the bottom and pull
back 5 mm.
5. Keep hydraulic cylinder (606) in a vertical position and fill it up with hydraulic oil to the top
of the hole. Make sure all air bubbles are out. To do this, stir the oil gently with a clean pick,
and refill again to reach the level stated above if it were necessary.
6. Introduce gently small piston (612) into cylinder (606) by its chamfered end, turning it. Small
piston (612) must be absolutely clean so as not to damage small seal (011).
