Maintenance
Maintenance operations, such as dismantling and reassembling, replacements of parts
shall be carried out by the manufacturer or their appointed Service Stations or by the
user if specifically trained by BartelsRieger which regularly organise courses for such
a task.After every dismantling and reassembling or after a long period of inactivity, the
mask shall be tested for tightness.

For the 2-year period for breathing connections, it is assumed that masks that have been cleaned and disin-
fected once are stored in an airtight packaging, otherwise a six-month period applies. After each cleaning /
disinfection, the breathing connections must always be checked.
**) This period may be extended to 2 years in the case of airtightly packed breathing connections which are not
exposed to increased climatic and mechanical stress (e.g. when carried on vehicles).

Protection), vfdb department 8 „Personal protective equipment" and according to DGUV
rule 112-190 „Use of respiratory protective devices", prepared by the „Respiratory
protection" department of the „Personal protective equipment" department of the DGUV
(German Social Accident Insurance).
In the other European countries the respective national regulations apply.
