Intended Use

• Multi-purpose rotary polishing machine, used for light to medium duty
polishing tasks, using suitable polishing bonnets, compounds and
sanding sheets

Unpacking Your Tool

• Carefully unpack and inspect your tool. Fully familiarise yourself with all
its features and functions
• Ensure that all parts of the tool are present and in good condition. If any
parts are missing or damaged,have such parts replaced before attempting

Before Use

WARNING: ALWAYS disconnect the machine from the power supply before
fitting or removing backing pads or accessories.
Fitting the auxiliary handle
• The Auxiliary Handle (3) can be
mounted in three different positions:
to the left, right or on top of the
gear housing
Note: The auxiliary handle mounting holes
in the gear housing are covered with
protective plastic caps. Remove the cap
from the relevant mounting point, prior
to fitting the Auxiliary Handle(3).
1. Screw the Auxiliary Handle (3)
clockwise into the mounting hole most
suitable for the application. Tighten by hand
2. To remove, unscrew the auxiliary handle anticlockwise
Fitting a backing pad
• Both the Polishing Bonnet Backing Pad (9) and the Hook & Loop Backing
Pad (11) feature a M14 female thread
• Both sanding sheets and polishing sponges are fitted to the Hook & Loop
Backing Pad
• Drawstring Polishing Bonnets (10) must only be fitted using the Polishing
Bonnet Backing Pad
1. Depress the Spindle Lock Button (2) and rotate the Spindle (1) slowly
by hand, until you feel the mechanism engage. Keep the button
pressed down
2. Thread the required backing pad clockwise on to the Spindle.
Tighten by hand and then release the Spindle Lock Button
3. To remove, depress the Spindle Lock Button, keep it pressed down,
and unscrew the backing pad anticlockwise
Fitting hook & loop sanding
sheets and polishing sponges
• Use only 180mm diameter sanding
sheets and polishing sponges.
Only fit them to the Hook & Loop
Backing Pad (11)
1. If fitted, remove the old sanding sheet
or polishing sponge, by peeling it off
the Hook & Loop Backing Pad (11)
2. Align the new sanding sheet or
polishing sponge with the Hook &
Loop Backing Pad
3. Fit the sheet or sponge by firmly
pushing it on to the hook & loop surface of the backing pad
Fitting the drawstring polishing bonnet
1. Undo the drawstring and fit the Polishing Bonnet (10) over the Polishing
Bonnet Backing Pad (9)
2. Pull the drawstring tight and re-knot to secure in position. Tuck the
drawstring into the edge of the bonnet

Operation

WARNING: Always wear adequate protective equipment, including eye,
hand and hearing protection, when operating this machine. Use respiratory
protection where dust or fumes are produced.
