are the waiting time – this option is used if the
BA Mobile Dialler is employed for property
security to allow time for you to leave the
property without triggering the alarm.) You
can also activate the Dialler immediately by
pressing the button briefly. The red LED goes
out and the BA Mobile Dialler is active and
ready to trigger the alarm.
b) Switching off
Press for ± 1 to 2 seconds on the ON/OFF
button until the green (or red) LED goes out.
Wait a minimum of 7 seconds between
switching off and on: the mobile module in
the dialler has to disconnect from the
provider, and this takes a few seconds.
c) Alarm call – resetting the alarm
If the Birth Alarm receiver detects an alarm,
the red LED on the BA Mobile Dialler flashes
and the dialler starts ringing the programmed
number(s). Your telephone rings. What do
you do?
- You answer the telephone, and hear beep-
ing (if you have given the number a name,
you will see "Alarm" for example on the
screen).
- You hang up, then ring the number of the
BA Mobile Dialler.
- Allow the phone to ring twice, then hang
up. This stops the BA Mobile Dialler trig-
gering the alarm and resets the system.
After you have rung back, the BA Mobile
Dialler remains inactive for 4 minutes, then
goes active automatically after this time.
Once you have rung back, the BA Mobile
Dialler knows you have received the alarm
call, so it waits at least 4 minutes to give you
time to go to your mare and/or to alert other
24
people without getting the busy tone.
If you answer the telephone but do not ring
back, the BA Mobile Dialler continues to call
the programmed alarm numbers at approxi-
mately 20-minute intervals.
If you do not answer an incoming alarm call,
let the phone ring out (13 sec.), then call
back to the BA Mobile Dialler, let the tele-
phone ring twice and hang up, you will have
received the alarm and reset the BA Mobile
Dialler without incurring any call charges!
The flashing red LED on the BA Mobile Dialler
indicates that an alarm has triggered and the
telephone has not been answered.
d) Power supply alarm
The BA Mobile Dialler comes with automatic
power-failure protection which is active if a 9
V battery is installed:
Insert a 9 V battery (not supplied) in the
dialler. Make sure the + and – poles are cor-
rectly aligned.
If the power now fails for more than a few
seconds, the pre-programmed numbers are
called. When you answer the phone, you
will hear a slow beeping.
Note : This alarm cannot be turned off by ring-
ing back.
The alarm can only be cancelled by restoring
the power supply or turning off the dialler.
Note: If there are lots of power failures, the
battery could go flat. Normal: Battery
change 1 x per year. Replace the battery
more often if power failures are frequent.
NB: The BA Mobile Dialler will also work
without a battery, but will not signal power
failures.
