Troubleshooting

Problem
No function when Trigger (13) is operated
Difficulty starting engine after 6+ Recoil Starter pulls (9)
Poor cutting quality
Possible cause
No power
Defective Trigger
Fuel is not reaching the carburettor
Choke is not activated
Poor fuel quality
Spark plug is dirty
Blade has too much debris stuck in the teeth
Engine is running poorly

Solution
Check fuel system
Replace the Trigger at an authorised GMC service centre
Ensure the Primer Bulb (17) contains fuel, press
sufficiently to fill the bulb
When starting the engine from cold, or in cold climates,
make sure the Choke Lever is in the 'closed' position
Only use fresh automotive grade fuel mixed with a 100%
synthetic 2-stroke oil at a 40:1 ratio. Do not use fuel that
has been stored for an excessive period of time
Clean the spark plug by following the instructions under
'Spark plug maintenance'
Switch off the tool, remove the Ignition Lead (5) and
remove the debris from the Blade (2) whilst wearing
suitable cut-proof gloves
Make sure that accessible parts, such as the spark plug
and air filter are clean and working as they should be.
If poor running persists, have the tool serviced by an
authorised GMC technician

correctly
