Input Level
Terrestrial
An integrated push-pull booster makes the terrestrial amplifier unit
(47 ... 862 MHz) CATV compatible.
The multiswitch is equipped with an adjustable attenuator in order to
adjust the level of the terrestrial or CATV signals.
The input levels can be reduced in active operation by 0 ... 10 dB.
All the terrestrial signals can be passively distributed in the multiswit-
ches.
To do this, the adjustable attenuator must be turned anticlockwise as
far as it will go. The terrestrial amplifier is then switched off.
The signal is passively distributed in the "passive" position, the tap loss
is then 13 to 22 dB according to type.
At the same time, the multiswitches then become
return path compatible.
Stand-By Mode
The multiswitches have a stand-by mode.
The terrestrial stage remains in operation in stand-by mode. The satellite IF
amplifier stages and the supply for the LNB are switched off. If a receiver
or antenna test equipment with LNB power supply is connected to a
subscriber output of the multiswitches, then this automatically switches to
standard mode.
SAT IF Distribution
The multiswitches have synchronous adjustable attenuators in
order to match the different levels of the various bands (low band,
high band). There is one controller per band. The input levels can be
reduced by 0 ... 10 dB.
The maximum input level is typically 90 dBµV in each case,
the adjustable attenuator turned on and full transponder load.
The IF signals are to be fed into the multiswitches in accordance
with the labeling so that the logical assignment of the IF levels
matches with the switching criteria.
