Description
The ATS1744 quadruple databus isolator is a functional
isolator for the ATS databus. It can isolate 4 ATS-slave loops.
In principle, each loop supports all peripherals in one area,
which means that the isolator can isolate 4 areas.
Shorts or open in one or more slave loops will not interrupt the
other slave loops and the master loop.
Mounting the unit
Mount the ATS1744 PCB in any existing ATS control panel
enclosure that supports the BB format.
Connections
J1 COMMS of master loop
+12 / 0V: 12 VDC supply input. 39 mA max with no other
peripheral devices connected.
D+ / D−: Positive and negative data connection of the RS485
databus.
J2 to J5 COMMS of slave loop
+12 / 0V: 12 VDC supply output. 300 mA max.
D+ / D−: Positive and negative data connection of the RS485
databus. Units can be up to 1.5 km from the 4-door DGP or
control panel, depending on the cable used. Recommended:
WCAT52/54; 2-pair twisted, shielded, data cable.

J12 earth connector
Connect the shield of the ATS COMMS cable. Ensure that the
shielding of one cable must be connected to one system earth.
See the Advisor Master Installation Guide.
Fuse connections
•
F1 to Comm. Slave 1
•
F2 to Comm. Slave 2
•
F3 to Comm. Slave 3
•
F4 to Comm. Slave 4
Note:
All fuses F1 to F2: 315 mA, fast 20x5.
LEDs
Rx: LED (yellow) flashes to indicate polling data is being
received on the system databus from the ATS control panel. If
the LED does not flash, the control panel is not operational or
the databus is faulty (usually cabling).
Tx: LED (red) flashes to indicate that any DGP or RAS is
replying to polling from the ATS control panel. If the Rx LED
flashes but the Tx LED does not, it indicates that the DGP is
not programmed to be polled in the control panel or that it is
addressed incorrectly or any of the databus is faulty.
Sy: LED (red) flashes to indicate that any DGP or RAS
connected to Slave y (1 to 4) are replying to polling from the
ATS control panel. If the Sy LED is off, the slave loop is
shorted.
