The charger allows you to charge rechargeable batteries that are in the unit. Take care not to connect the
charger when there are non rechargeable batteries in the unit.

8. Maintenance
Handle the device gently and carefully.
Do not use this device in hostile environments e.g. dusty, humid and hot environments.
Clean the device with a soft moistened cloth. Do not use corrosives to clean the device.
Battery contacts can be wiped with a dry, lint-free cloth.

SOLUTION
Reposition or replace batteries.

- Verify if the units have the same channel and subcode settings.
- Make sure the PTT button is not inadvertently being pressed.

Shared channel or subcode ; try another.
Operation in steel or concrete structures will decrease range. Check for clear line of sight
to improve transmission.
Wearing the radio close to your body will decrease the range. Change the location of the
radio.
- The 2 PMRs are too close ; they must be at least 5 feet apart. Increase the distance.
- The 2 PMRs are too far apart or obstacles are interfering with the transmission. The talk
range is up to 2 miles in clear, unobstructed conditions.
SOLUTION
- A long distance from the broadcasting station may lead to a weak signal. Change the
frequency to a strong one.
- Disturbance by electricity around the unit. Change its location.
- Not enough power. Change the batteries.
- Weak broadcasting signal. Change the frequency manually or change the PMR location.
- Too much disturbance. Change the PMR location.
