WARNING: Do not attempt to charge any type of regular alkaline batteries in
the units. Only use the original charging dock and the supplied
battery pack or AAA NiMH rechargeable batteries.

• The maximum transmission range will vary
depending on terrain and environment. Open fields
provide the maximum range. Use in buildings and
vehicles, near steel/concrete structures and heavy
foliage may limit the range significantly.
• Wearing the unit close to the body such as in a
pocket or on a belt will decrease the range.
Sound • Speak at normal voice volume at a distance of two
distortion
to three inches from the speaker.
• Lower the volume to a comfortable level.
• The units are too close/far apart. Respect the
operating distance of five feet up to three miles.
• Obstacles interfere with the transmission.

8. Safety Precautions

• Both units operate with 3 x 1.5V AAA alkaline batteries or the NiMH
battery pack. Do not leave the batteries or the battery pack in the units
over a long period of time as leakage may occur and destroy the units.
• Do not expose the units or charger dock to rain or moisture.
