could receive a signal that is too weak or it may even not
detect anything: the LEDs will not come on.
Power on
Before powering up the sensor, set it up as follows:
- RV1 RV2 turned completely clockwise  ;
- Dip1, Dip2, Dip5, Dip6 in position OFF, Dip3 and Dip4 in
position ON and Dip7 as you like ;
- JP1 open , JP2  and JP3 closed .
The settings must then be modified with the power supply on.
At this point the sensor is ready for 'initiation' that lasts
five seconds.
Initiation
Power up the sensor, the LEDs light up and stay on DL1 and
DL2. After about five seconds, the LEDs switch off and the sen-
sor will 'beep' a few times to confirm successful initiation. Any
detection during this phase, will prolong the initiation time.
To pre-initiate the sensor, cut off the power, and press the tam-
per key  (the tamper must be JP1 = OPEN), to check that
the sensor is set as described above and then power up again.

Once the sensor is fastened, to direct the heads, we suggest
slightly loosening it and the joint screws.
Adjusting the range
C
The detection range is the one in which BOTH the technologies
(infrared
 and microwave
) detect. So it is neces-

sary to adjust the ORIENTATION and RANGE of both heads so
that the two detection areas coincide as much as possible.
NOTE. Follow the adjustment order explained below.
Adjusting the infrared
1- Set DIP7 depending on the dimensions of the area to
protect;
Max range up to 18 m.
Max range up to 12 m.
Adjustment 9 ÷ 18 m
Adjustment 3 ÷ 12 m
Every time DIP7 is moved, you need to wait 10÷20 seconds
for the sensor to stabilize into the new position.
2- Set DIP5 to ON and DIP6 to OFF to enable the walk test of
only the infrared. The DL1 LED (infrared) will turn on and stay
on while the DL3 LED (alarm/transmission) will turn on with
each infrared detection.
3- Position trimmer RV1 to MAXIMUM
4- Turn the infrared head towards the area to protect
5- Adjust the infrared sensor by moving within the detection
area: the blue LED will turn on when the infrared detects the
walk through.
If the range is not the one you need, gradually raise the
infrared head
and diminish the adjustment
F
Repeat the test until you obtain the desired range
Adjusting the microwave
1- Set DIP5 to OFF and DIP6 to ON to enable only the micro-
wave walk test. The DL2 LED (microwave) will turn on and
stay on while thel DL3 LED (alarm/transmission) will turn on
with each microwave detection.
Adjusting the microwave is independent from that of the
infrared and the position of DIP7 does not affect the micro-
wave adjustment.
2- Adjust the microwave sensor by moving within the de-
tection area: the blue LED will turn on when the microwave
detects a walk through.
If the range is not the desired one, gradually raise the mirco-
wave head
I
Repeat the tests until you obtain the desired range
☞ The subject can walk through the areas without
triggering an alarm because it is not detected by both
technologies simultaneously
The detection area of the microwave
that of the infrared
an unwanted activation of the infrared (e.g. when leaves
move) and of the microwave that detects beyond the
required area (e.g. a van passing beyond the fence)
Installing the sensor
The infrared sensor is sensitive to the "heat quantity" given

until you obtain detection only in the area you want to protect.
Once the orientation operation is concluded, tighten the
joint screws.
Note. The sensor's cover diminishes the IR beam by 30%. The
sensor will be active and functioning only after the stabilizing
phase upon powering up; during this phase do not loiter or
move within the detection area.
Instructions for using the sensor outdoors
