Description
The ACI406/407 reader is a Mifare card reader (compatible
with the ACT4xxE series cards). It is designed, for example, to
mount on metal, window or door frames and is suitable for any
location that requires a small reader.
ACI407 is equipped with a keypad for Card+PIN applications.
ACI406 and ACI407 incorporate all interface electronics
necessary to interface with the ATS1105, ATS1170 and
ATS1250.

Reader wiring
Note: The ACI406/407 reader power link must be set to +12 V.
Wire colours are an indication only and may vary depending on
the type of data cable used. Use the WCAT 54 data cable,
50 m maximum.

Earthing
The earth terminals on every piece of equipment in the system
that is housed in a metal base, must be earthed by connecting
them all to one common earth point via a separate Earth wire
run with the data cable back to the ATS1105, ATS1170 and
ATS1250. The separate Earth wire must be at least 2.5 mm².
A heavier gauge is recommended for runs of over 500 m.
The ACI406/407 must not be connected to a local earth.
Installing
If readers are placed closer than 10 cm from each other or if
the reader is installed on metal, the reading distance can be
shorter.
Do not install close to sources of powerful electromagnetic
disturbance.
Do not cut the cable shorter than 10 cm.
