2.3 Setting the alarm
3 / Using the di erent modes
After correctly attaching the device to your belt, the pedometer counts every step taken from the
beginning to the end of your walk or run.
3.1 Viewing the information
In the STEP mode, the upper line displays the number of strides done. The lower line displays either
the distance covered, the average speed, the calories burned, the time elapsed or the total number of
steps and the total distance. Use the SET button to switch from one display to the next.
3.2 Stopwatch
The exercise stopwatch starts automatically when you take your rst step. You do not need to

activate it using a button. It stops automatically on sensing that you have stopped for more than
a few seconds.
3.3 Average speed
Average speed is calculated and displayed every minute on the basis of the distance covered over
the last completed minute. The device does not therefore calculate your average speed over the total
distance covered. Because one minute is required to calculate the average speed, the device does not
display data during the rst minute of exercise or after stopping.
3.4 Total number of steps and total distance covered
This device displays the cumulative number of steps and distance covered over several training
sessions. This function allows you to keep track of the distance covered over a week, a month or a year
for example. If you do not reset this function to zero, data will continue to be added. To make sure you
are looking at the right information, TOTAL is displayed at the bottom left of the screen.
3.5 Walk / run automatic mode
The pedometer automatically recognises your activity mode: walking or running.
It can therefore use the appropriate stride length (walking or running stride length) to calculate the
distance covered. When you alternate between walking and running during the same session, this
function guarantees that the distance is correct.
If you do not want to use this function because you are using the pedometer only for walking or
running, you can set the same stride length for the two types of activity. The distance will then be
calculated using the same stride length.
Hold down the RESET button for 3 seconds to reset all STEP mode functions to zero.
The total number of steps and the total distance covered are not reset to zero so that the
cumulative total over several sessions is measured. To reset the total number of steps and
the total distance covered to zero, select total display in the STEP mode using the SET
button and then hold down the RESET button for 2 seconds.
