These instructions concern only OPTI-FIT TWIN full-face masks in compliance with European Standard EN136:1998.
OPTI-FIT TWIN masks must only be used in accordance with these instructions. Incorrect use could result in danger to life or health.
PROTECTION AND USAGE
OPTI-FIT TWIN masks are manufactured in strict compliance with European standard EN 136:1998 – Class 2.
The protection category and type of application of these masks depend on the respiratory equipment that is used with them.
OPTI-FIT TWIN masks may be used with filters that meet the requirements of European standards EN141, 143, 371 or 372.
OPTI-FIT TWIN visors are designed to protect the user against high speed particles and splashed chemicals (please contact us for further
information about compatibility).

LIMITATIONS OF USE

On no account may the WILLSON OPTI-FIT TWIN be used alone. It must be used with CE approved respiratory protection equipment.
When used with a filter or a filtering device, the mask must not be used in an oxygen-deficient atmosphere, in accordance with national
standards in force.
In case of doubt about the suitability of the respirator for a specific job, consult the supplier.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
Unpacking instructions
Carefully remove the mask from the packaging.
Check that the equipment is complete and free of damage. Contact your supplier immediately if any item is damaged or missing. The
mask must not be used if it is damaged or incomplete.
Storage
Do not store at temperatures below -20°C or above +50°C or in an atmosphere with relative humidity above 90%.
Store the mask away from sunlight and dust in its original packaging or in a sealed container.
Checks before use
Read the user instructions for the equipment connected to the mask.
Check that the mask is not damaged in any way.
Donning the face mask
1.
Place chin into bottom of mask and pull straps over head.
2.
Position the centre of the harness as far as possible at the back of head.
3.
Gradually tighten the harness, starting with the lower straps then upper straps. Do not over-tighten.
4.
Place palm of hand over mask inlet, breathe in and hold breath. The mask should collapse onto the face and remain so as long as
breath is held. This confirms that the mask is correctly sealed. If the mask returns to its initial position whilst the breath is held, readjust
the harness straps and repeat the air-tightness test.
If an effective face seal cannot be achieved, DO NOT USE the mask. See the maintenance instructions.
Check that there is no hair between the mask and the face. Whiskers, a beard or spectacle arms can also affect the air-
tightness of the mask.
Always make sure that the respiratory protection equipment attached to the mask is suitable for the intended use.
In normal use, breathe slowly and regularly.
If the mask or the attached respiratory equipment should fail, leave the contaminated area immediately.
Never remove the mask before leaving the contaminated area.
When removing the mask, take all necessary precautions to avoid inhaling dust or contaminants retained on the external
surface of the mask.
Removing the mask
Using the thumbs, push forward the buckle lugs to loosen the straps.
Insert thumb between the chin and the bottom part of the mask.
Gently pull forward to ease mask up and over head.
Cleaning instructions
Remove the respiratory protection device from the mask inlet.
Wash the mask with lukewarm soapy water or in an ultra-sonic tank with a 3% aqueous solution of EPI-US – 177906 (see maintenance
instructions for more details). Do not use organic solvents or abrasive products to clean the mask.
Rinse the mask thoroughly in clean running water.
Dry the mask with a clean, lint-free cloth.
When dry, polish visor with a soft cotton cloth and ALTUSIL – Ref. 1779061.
MAINTENANCE
Perform a monthly inspection of the mask to detect deterioration, torn straps or face blank and split seals or valves. Do not use the mask until
worn or damaged parts are replaced.
