Operating Instruction
Device operation
1. Switch on the gas warning unit using the
slide switch - move the slide switch to the
left, all the LEDs light up, a short perma-
nent acoustic signal is sounded and the
heat-up phase of approx. 25 s begins, -
then the green

ready for operation.
2. If escaping gas is detected, the acoustic
signal (ticking noise) becomes faster as
the concentration increases.
3. When the 1st switching threshold of 100
ppm has been exceeded, the yellow LED
lights up.
4. When the 2nd switching threshold of - 1
Vol% has been exceeded, the red LED
lights up. - The permanent acou-
stic signal can be heard.
On account of its function, the gas detec-
tor gas warning unit must not be used as a
measuring device or for personal protection!
Calibrating the device
Re-calibration of the 2nd switching threshold:
1. Switch the device on, wait until the heat-
up phase is over.
2. Apply testing gas 1 Vol% methane to the
diffusion head, keep the testing gas flow
to a minimum during the calibration pro-
cess.
3. Use a screwdriver to set the potentiome-
ter in such a way that the red LED lights
up and the permanent signal can be
heard.
4. End of calibration process.

Charging the NiMH batteries
