How to use and take care of my hearing protector
All hearing protectors, which are included in this instruc-
tion sheet, are equipped with thermoplastic headband
or spring-arms, or stainless steel neckband and foam-
plastic filled cushions.
Use
To attain highest comfort and protection from your
hearing protector you shall use, take care of and adjust
the protector in accordance with the instructions below.
- Earmuffs and in particular cushions may deteriorate
with use and should be examined at frequent intervals
for cracking and leakage, for example. For hygiene kit
replacement remove the self-adhesive cushion. Re-
move the protective film from the replacement cushion
and place the cushion around the hole and press.
(Hygiene kit item no. HK1/HK2). Hygiene kit should be
exchanged at least two times per year.
- The fitting of hygiene covers to the cushions may
affect the acoustic performance of the earmuffs.
- This product may be adversely affected by certain
chemical substances. Further information should be
sought from the manufacturer.
Fitting and adjustment
Noise reduction will be adversely affected by anything
that impairs the seal of the earmuff cushions against the
head, such as thick spectacle frames, balaclavas, etc.
Remove all hair under the cushion and fit the ear cups
over your ears so that they sit comfortably and snugly.
Ensure that your ears are totally enclosed by the cups
and that you get an even pressure around your ears.
Headband
Adjust the protector to its largest size and put it on. Now
adjust the headband so that the protector rests lightly
on your head.
Neckband
Adjust the protector to its largest size and put it on.
Now adjust the headband strap so that the protector
rests lightly on your head.
Cap/Helmet mounted
Adjust the protector to its largest size and fit the ear
cups over your ears. Adjust the ear cups so that the
cap/helmet rests lightly on your head.
Care
Clean with mild detergent (soap). You must be sure that
the detergent does not irritate your skin. The hearing
protector should be kept in a dry and clean place, for
example in the original packing.
Warning
If the instructions are not observed attenuation can
dramatically decrease. The earmuffs should be worn at
all time in noisy surroundings!
