Always replace all planing blades in order to avoid any imbalance.
Do not try to re-sharpen blunt planing blades!
On the right picture you can see the correct position of the planing blade on the blade carrier.
5. Prior to use the electric planer again check the tight fit of the clamping screws (15).
6. Turn the blade shaft carefully by hand and make sure the planing blades do not touch anything.
Chamfering Edges
In the centre of the planing sole there is a V-Groove (14) for chamfering edges. To plane a chamfer, place
the electric planer on the edge of the workpiece with the V-Groove. Now plane the chamfer in the desired
angle. For best result, move the machine only very slowly.
Screws for Adjusting the Cutting Edge Height
The height of the blade shaft resp. the height of the planing blades in the blade carrier can be adjusted
with both adjusting screws (20). The height is already adjusted by factory and should only be re-adjusted,
in necessary, by a professional. The cutting edge height has to be adjusted in such a way that the planing
blades just do not touch the workpiece when the front sole is set in the lowest position.
(Fig.6)
Replacing the Drive Belt
Before undertaking any work on the machine, pull the power plug.
1. Loosen the three screws and remove the belt cover (8).
2. First attach the new drive belt of the same size and dimension on the small wheel. Place the drive belt
over the large wheel by simultaneously turning the large wheel.
3. Re-attach the belt cover (8) on the housing and tighten the cover with the screws.
Make sure the belt does not have more than 5 mm of slack between the motor shaft and the drive shaft.
CLEANING AND MAINTANCE
1. Before undertaking any work on the electric planer, pull the power plug.
2. Remove all wood chips from the planing debris opening (3) and the ventilation slots (11). Make sure the
blade shaft (17) cannot be blocked. For cleaning the planing debris opening use a suitable too (e. g. woo
stick or compressed air).
3. Do not use aggressive chemicals, abrasives, solvents or liquids to clean the machine. Use only a soft,
slightly moistened cloth.
4. Regularly check all screws for tightness.
5. Make sure the planing blades are sharp and correctly adjusted.
6. Have a damaged power cable replaced by a professional.
7. Occasionally check the condition of the drive belt and replace the drive belt if necessary.
8. Only attempt to repair the machine yourself if you have the necessary skills. Otherwise please turn to a
professional support department.

ENVIRONMENT

Do not dispose of electric tools, accessories and packaging together with household waste material -
in observance of European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste of electric and electronic equipment and its
implementation in accordance with national law, electric tools that have reached the end of their life must
be collected separately and returned to an environmentally compatible recycling facility.
