Monitoring functions

8.1 Cyclic feedback
In the "armed" and "unarmed" states, the correct functioning of the radio transmission
line is monitored cyclically.
If a malfunction is detected, a corresponding message is transmitted to the control panel.
8.2 Monitoring of operating voltage (battery)
The operating voltage of the detector is monitored to ensure that the specified minimum
value is observed.
If the value falls below the minimum, a corresponding message is transmitted to the
control panel.
The batteries must be replaced within 4 weeks (30 days) following the fault
message. The life of the batteries may become shortened by increased
current consumption of the radio users in case of alarm, frequent
actuations, at low temeratures, radio interferences or poor radio line.
recommend to change the battery at least every 2 years when a routine
maintenance is already done.
9.
Project planning information
The mounting site must be selected in accordance with national or local guidelines
and requirements. Please note that the radio transmission range may be restricted
considerably by ambient conditions (e.g. concrete walls and ceilings, ambient
temperature). The optimum position or max. range can be determined using the field
strength function in the WINFEM Advanced programming software.
Please observe the additional project planning information in the
Mounting and Connection Instructions of the associated RF BUS-2
wireless receiver.
9.1
Radio revision mode,
The radio revision mode is used, prior to the actual installation, to determine a
mounting site suitable for transmission and reception. To run the radio revision mode,
you will need an RF BUS-2 wireless receiver.
Please observe the information in the Mounting and Connection
Instructions of the associated RF BUS-2 wireless receiver.
9.1.1
Switching on the radio revision mode
- Detector must be in the de-energised state, battery connecting plug must be pul-
led.
- Press radio revision mode button and hold it down.
- Plug in the battery connecting plug and then release the radio revision mode but-
ton.
9.1.2
LED displays in radio revision mode
The red LED is lit:
Unable to establish communication with the
RF BUS-2 wireless receiver.
LED red
No communication possible.
The yellow LED is lit:
Communication with the RF BUS-2 wireless receiver can be
established using the required field strength.

Switching off the radio revision mode
- The radio revision mode is automatically left after 15 minutes.
- The radio revision mode can be left by pulling off the battery and
plugging it in again.
10. Programming
10.1
Programming information
To connect a hazard detection system, you will need the RF BUS-2 wireless receiver
(Item no. 015600 or 015600.01). The detector will be detected as radio detector
when it is connected for the first time and during the programming of the RF BUS-2
wireless receiver.

10.1.1
Programming of the inputs
The RF magnetic contact has a total of 4 inputs, which are to be programmed as part
of control panel programming. Each one of the contact inputs is monitored separately
and transmitted to the control panel, thus allows a individual identification of each
window. Allocation is performed as follows:

Unconnected inputs must not be programmed.
10.2
MB-Secure Mode / Compatible mode
By default, the RF magnetic contact is in MB secure mode. In other words, it is
displayed on the IQ PanelControl as "RF magnetic contact" for programming and no
change of the operation mode as described in the following chapter is required.
A compatibility mode is available for use with the MB100 control panel series and
programming with WINFEM Advanced. In other words, it is used as a 4I/O module
within programming using WINFEM Advanced (but without use of output
programming).

11. Changing the operating mode

The following procedure is used to switch to another operating mode:
-
detector has to be disconnected from voltage; connect the battery plug and wait for
about 10 seconds.
-
During initialization phase, the yellow and red LEDs flash quickly.
-
After 3 seconds, the LED indicates the current operating mode.
-
If you would like to switch to another operating mode, press the
revision button within 3 seconds.

-
Wait for 3 seconds; the LED will switch off and the RF magnetic contact will switch to
the normal operating mode.
The operating mode remains programmed even in case of battery
replacement.
