6. Mounting
6.1 Installation location
The RF magnetic contact can be mounted on the window or door frame to be moni-
tored (not VdS compliant). It is attached using the included screws or adhesive pads.
The magnet is to be positioned on the moving part of the window or door opposite
the detector. Spacers are available in several different sizes for height adjustment.
Make sure that windows in tilted positions are recognized as "open windows".
Parallel distance between the RF magnetic contact and the magnet in the housing:
max. 9 mm. Mounting on objects containing metal (e.g. steel frames or windows with
steel cores) can affect the triggering distance.
The specified distance between the RF magnetic contact and the mag-
net can only be ensured to work properly when using the magnets listed
in the accessories. Please refer to the project planning instructions in
chapter 9 for more detailed information on how to determine a suitable
location for installation, which ensures proper transmission.
6.2 Options for installing the RF magnetic contact
Example 1 shows how double-wing windows are monitored with the RF magnet con-
tact according to the VdS guidelines.
Mounting instructions for VdS-compliant mounting:
- Mounting only in protected indoor area.
- RF magnet contact must not be mounted on a window frame or wing.
- Installation in the window reveal is allowed on condition that the RF
magnetic contact is not affected by moisture (condensation, window
cleaning agents, etc.).

Example 2 shows how double-wing windows are monitored when the RF magnetic
contact is mounted vertically. Thus different mounting options are available depen-
ding on the application.

Example 3 shows how 4 windows are monitored using one RF magnetic contact.
Each one of the contact inputs is monitored separately and transmitted to the control
unit, thus allowing for individual identification of each window. See programming in
chapter 10.

Example 4 shows two options for integrating the RF magnetic contact in an
alarm glass window with alarm glass spider.

Example 5 shows monitoring windows and
doors to determine whether they are ope-
ned or closed and locked. The slimline lock
sensor with a magnetic contact here serves
two purposes at once:
- It detects whether windows and doors are
locked with multiple locking and concealed
push rods.
- It monitors opening
