Intended Use

The Philips Reusable Electrode Adapter is intended for use by or under
the supervision of a licensed physician or other healthcare provider. This
adapter provides a connection between lead wires and ECG electrodes.
Compatibility
The Electrode Adapter 989803166031 accepts any standard monitoring
lead that has a 3-4 mm (0.12 - 0.16 inches) banana plug.
The Electrode Adapter 989803193821 accepts any standard monitoring
lead that comes with a female Safety DIN (42802) plug.
The adapters may be locked onto both snap and tab electrodes. (Note:
electrodes with neck diameters less than 3.6 mm (0.141 inches) or larger
than 3.8 mm should not be used.)
Disposal
Immediately discard any adapter showing visual signs of damage or
deterioration. Follow approved medical waste disposal methods specified
by your patient care facility or local regulations.
Warnings
• Do not use the adapter with MRI equipment.
• Always inspect the adapter before use. Do not use if visual inspection
reveals damage, contamination or if adapter shows signs of corrosion of
the metal spring or deterioration of the plastic housing.
• When disconnecting a lead from an adapter, be sure to pull on the
banana/DIN plug. Do not pull on the cable or lead.
• Never immerse the adapter in any liquid. Doing so may damage the
adapter, including corrosion.
• Do not sterilize the adapter by autoclave, radiation, or steam methods.
