10. Wait for the valve to complete the cycle (it will only take a
few minutes) and to position on working mode.
11. Press and hold again the
a manual regeneration cycle.
Wait a few seconds for the valve to position itself on phase
C1.
12. Press the N and
h
buttons to pass to step C2, "SALT
INSERTION". Check that the water in the brine tank is
sucked through the transparent glass in the tank.
Water must be sucked until the suction pipe is immersed.
At this point, the ball in the glass will drop to the bottom. If
the ball drops before the brine tank is empty, ensure that
the pipe and the quick joints are perfectly sealed.
13. Press the N and
h
buttons at the same time to pass to
step C5.
14. Wait for the cycle to finish (it will take about 10 minutes).
15. Open the inlet and outlet taps completely (fig. 3, B, D) and
close the by-pass tap (fig. 3, C).
16. Add salt to the brine tank until a little bit more than half of
it is filled.
Proceed with settings.
5) SETTING THE TIMER
5.1 GIX SERIES (COMMANDS DESCRIPTION)
The GIX timer has four buttons and a display. They will allow
you to set up the parameters to let the equipment work cor-
rectly (fig. 9).
In working mode, the display shows the time, the day, and the
days for scheduled regenerations.
During regeneration, it shows the remaining time until com-
pletion and which phase it is currently performing (fig. 18).
5.2 TURNING ON THE EQUIPMENT
Plug in the equipment and connect the connector to the timer
(fig. 6, G). The display (fig. 9, E) will show the time.
If "ERR3" appears instead, wait for the valve to position itself
correctly. The error message will disappear and the time will
appear on the display.
5.3 SETTING THE DAY AND TIME
1. Press N . The display will flash.

2. Using the
buttons, set the current time (fig. 10).
3. Press N to confirm.
A small triangle indicating the day will appear on the higher
part of the display (fig. 11).

5.4 SETTING THE REGENERATION TIME
On the left side of the display, a amall triangle will point to the
words ("regen time").
1. Press N . The display will flash.

buttons, select the regeneration time (fig.
13).
3. Press N to confirm.
5.5 SETTING THE REGENERATION DAY
On the display, you will see a number indicating the number
of days elapsing between regenerations, and a little triangle
under the word DAYS (fig. 14).
1. Press N . The display will flash.

2. Press the
uttons to choose the number of days elap-
sing between a regeneration and the next. Values go from
0.5 to 99.
The 0.5 value means that two regenerations a day will be
performed, one every 12 hours. For example: if "regene-
ration time" (see paragraph 5.4) is set at 17, the following
regeneration will be performed at 5 a.m.
The other values go from 1 (one regeneration a day) to 99
(one regeneration every 99 days). Press N to confirm.
If, instead, you wish to select specific days of the week for the
regeneration to be performed, use the buttons
value 0 and press N.
1. The 0 value will disappear from the display, and a small
triangle on the left side will point to the words "regen day".
2. Press N. Another small triangle will flash in the higher part
of the display, right under the SU day (Sunday).
3. Press N. The small triangle will move to the following day,
without flashing.
4. It is now possible, using the
right to the regeneration days of your choice.
5. Press N and the small triangle will flash.

6. Press
to confirm, and the chosen day will be underlined.
The regeneration will take place on the underlined days
(fig. 15).
7. Press N to confirm.
8. Set the regeneration days of your choice.
9. Press and hold N until a letter appears on the display (fig.
16).
