14. Do not tilt the aerator when starting it, unless the aerator
has to be tilted for starting. In this case, do not tilt it more
than required and lift only the part which is away from
the operator.
15. Do not start the engine when standing in front of the
discharge chute.
16. Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating parts.
Keep clear off the discharge opening at all limes.
17. Never lift carry the aerator while it is running.
18. Stop the engine and disconnect the spark plug wire.

4. MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

1. Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the
equipment is in a safe working condition.
2. Never store it with gasoline in the tank inside a building
where fumes may reach an open flame or spark.
3. Allow the engine to coll before storing in any enclosures.
4. To reduce fire hazard, keep the engine and the silencer
free of grass, leaves, or excessive grease.
5. Check the grass catcher frequently for wer or
deterioration.
6. Replace worn or damaged parts for safety.
Use only original spare parts. Parts not produced by
manufacturer may cause poor fit and possible injury.
7. If the fuel tanks has to be drained, this should be done
outdoors.
8. Regularly check or have a service centre check the
tightening of blades and bolts that support the motor.
9. Blade replacement is complicate operation which
involve specific competence as well as special
equipment. For safety reasons, this operation must be
carried out by a specialised technical assistance centre.
5. AERATION
Each year and on every lawn, moss and weeds take
hold, which cause the ground to become matted.
By aerating, the hard surface is cut, allowing the grass to
breathe and take up nutritional substances, oxygen and
water.
Before aerating, mow the lawn to a height of about 40 mm
(an inch).
Only use the aerator when the lawn is dry.
The best period for aerating is during the growing season,
from the end of April to the end of September.
Do this work at least once a year.
To get a nice green effect, we recommend using a fertiliser
immediately after having used the aerator.
