Description
The PR2000C is a 40-column thermal printer designed for use with
GE Security 2000C series fire alarm control panels.
Installation
To install the printer:
1.
Create a slot of approximately 66 × 9 mm on the control
panel door using a metal cutter and mount the printer to the
inside of the door using the screws provided. Ensure that the
paper roll is aligned with the slot (see Figure 1).
2.
Install the printer power supply onto the mounting plate in
the control panel cabinet (see Figure 2).
To connect the printer:
WARNING:
Disconnect the mains power supply and the batteries
before making any connections.
1.
Connect the red, orange, and black power cables to the
printer and to +V OUTPUT and −V OUTPUT on the printer
power supply (Figure 3, item 4). See Table 1 below.
2.
Connect the red and black power cables from J17 (PRINT) on
the PS2000N to +V INPUT and −V INPUT on the printer power
supply (Figure 3, item 2). See Table 1 below.
3.
Connect the earth cable from the printer power supply to the
earth stud in the control panel cabinet (Figure 3, item 3).
4.
Connect the serial cable from the printer to PORT2 or PORT3
on the FC2012 CPU host module (Figure 3, item 1).

To configure the printer:
1.
Go to the port setup menu on your control panel (System >
Configuration > Communication > Port Setup) and configure
the control panel to printer communication as shown in
Table 2 below.

Reset the control panel.

To test the printer:
1.
Print a list of events from the events menu on your control
panel (Events > Display Events > Destination > Ev. Pri. >
Execute).
To load the paper:
1.
Open the cover at the front of the printer and insert the paper
as shown in Figure 4.
2.
Pull the leading edge of the paper up to align with the exit slot
and close the cover as shown in Figure 5.
Maintenance
Basic maintenance consists of a yearly inspection. Do not modify
internal wiring or circuitry.
