Make sure the switch is in off position (0) and the appliance is
unplugged.
Put the metallic centre receptacle on the axis of the appliance
making sure that the groove of the receptacle's stem fits onto the
pegs of the axis (fig. 1, page 3).
Place the plastic receptacle on the motor block (fig. 2, page 3)
and turn it anticlockwise (fig. 3, page 3) making sure that the tabs
on the plastic receptacle fit under the metal tabs of the motor
block. To check if the receptacle is correctly locked, it should
be possible to raise the appliance by holding the receptacle,
without the motor block detaching itself.

Before switching on the appliance, it is necessary to make holders
to collect the cotton candy. To do so, make a cone out of a sheet
of paper (supplied) and fix the cone with a piece of tape so that
it cannot unfold.
Make sure the switch is in off position (0).
Plug in the appliance.
Put the switch in on position (1) and let the appliance operate
empty for 5 minutes so that it can warm up.
Switch off the appliance and wait until the metallic centre
receptacle stops rotating.
Fill the measuring spoon supplied with sugar and pour the sugar
in the middle of the centre receptacle.
Switch the appliance back on. The centre receptacle starts
rotating.
After a few minutes, the cotton candy maker will spin the sugar
into a flossy sweet thread that you collect on the paper cone.
To do so, hold the cone vertically and turn it on itself with your
fingers while circling the plastic receptacle simultaneously. When
you collected some cotton candy, hold the cone horizontally and
continue rotating it with your fingers and around the receptacle
until no more sugar threads come out of the centre receptacle.
Caution: never touch the metallic receptacle with the cone, as
this would affect the final result. Never try to stop the movement
of the receptacle in any way.
When no more sugar comes out of the receptacle, it means that
it is empty. You can now switch off the appliance.
Caution: never touch the centre receptacle right after use, as it
might reach very high a temperature during use. Wait until the
appliance has totally cooled down.
Caution: caramelised sugar will build up in the receptacle during
use. This is perfectly normal and does not result from any defect
of the appliance.
hint: you can use standard crystallised sugar, or aromatised sugar
that you will find in commerce. For hygienic reasons, we advise
you to use a new cone for each use.
