RECOMMENDATIONS FOR USE

Although there
precautions to take when using your
grill / plancha for the first time, remove
any stickers and clean the utensil with
warm water and washing up liquid
before use.
Observing a
guarantees optimal
longevity of the product:
- Your grill or plancha is designed to be
used on the free Horizone area of your
De Dietrich Horizone Play induction
hob (see chapter 3)
- Use the dedicated Grill / Plancha
function (see chapter 4), or,
- On a free Horizone area, increase the
utensil's temperature very gradually to
avoid thermal shock. With induction,
NEVER USE
FUNCTION OR MAXIMUM POWER.
Start on minimum power and increase
gradually without reaching maximum
power to avoid damaging the cast iron
(cracks) or the enamel surface.
- Never heat your empty utensil at a
high temperature for a prolonged
period; to grill or braise, it is best to
heat at medium temperature using a
food grade fat or oil. To limit the
quantity, moisten a cloth with fat or oil
and wipe the surface when cold.
- Avoid setting the power to high which
could blacken the fat or oil and make
food stick. Excessive overheating can
damage the enamelled surface.
- Be cautious on glass cooking plates
and lift the utensil (do not slide it).
Scraping with a heavy utensil can
scratch the surface.
- Despite their sturdiness, cast iron and
enamel may break: avoid impacts, in
particular on the edges of the product.

- Use non-metallic spatulas.
- Do not cut food inside your utensil,
which may damage the enamel.
For your safety:
- Never leave your hot cooking utensil
without supervision within a child's
reach and place the handles towards
the inside of your cooking plate.
- Handle all hot parts: hooking system,
cast iron handles, etc. with pot holders
or heat protection gloves.
- Do not put the hot utensil directly onto
a table, place it on a mat.
