Problem
The device produces a

Possible cause
The attachment or the 'ilter
'lass is dirty.
You have not removed the
hairs on the area to be
treated properly. These hairs
may 'et burned and can
cause the smell.
The li'ht intensity settin' you
use is too hi'h.
You did not remove the hairs
on the areas to be treated.
The UV 'ilter o' the li'ht exit
window is broken.
You treated an area 'or which
the device is not intended.
You have used a li'ht
intensity settin' which is too
hi'h 'or you.
You have used a li'ht
intensity settin' which is too
low 'or you.
You did not 'lash an area
adjacent to an area you
treated be'ore.
The device is not e''ective on
your body hair color.
You do not use the device as
o'ten as recommended.
You respond more slowly to
IPL treatment.
This is normal.
Solution
Clean the attachment care'ully.
Pretreat your skin be'ore you use Lumea.
Check i' you have selected the ri'ht li'ht
intensity settin'. I' necessary, select a
lower settin'.
Pretreat your skin be'ore you use Lumea.
I' the UV 'ilter is broken, do not use the
device anymore. Contact the Consumer
Care Center in your country, your Philips
dealer or a Philips service center.
Never use the device on the 'ollowin'
areas: inner labia, anus, nipples, areolas,
lips, inside the nostrils and ears, around
the eyes and near the eyebrows. Men
must not use it on the 'ace or on the
scrotum.
Select a lower intensity next
time. See chapter 'Usin' your Philips
Lumea', section 'Selectin' the ri'ht li'ht
intensity'..
Select a hi'her settin' next time.
You have to release the 'lashes close to
each other.
I' you have li'ht blond, blond, or red hair,
the treatment is not e''ective.
To remove all hairs success'ully, we
advice you to 'ollow the recommended
treatment schedule. You can reduce the
time between treatments, but do not
treat more o'ten than once every two
weeks.
Continue usin' the device 'or at least 6
months, as hair re'rowth can still
decrease over the course o' this period.
The body attachment does not contain a
'lass/'ilter/window.
