The excess current device is used for signalling in
normal operations in accordance with DIN 14462.
The motor does not switch off if it is overloaded.
The motor only switches when overloaded in test
run mode.

8.3 Checking the PLC

You have to set the date and time on the PLC
during commissioning (see 6.2.2 Setting the PLC)

9 Maintenance

Have maintenance and repair work carried out
by qualified skilled personnel only!

There is risk of fatal injury from electrical shock
when working on electrical equipment.
• The system should be switched off so that it is
voltage-free and secured against unauthorised
switch-on for any maintenance or repair work.

Causes
Excess current release triggered
• Incorrect phase sequence
• Phase failure
• Overvoltage or undervoltage in the
supply network
Protection against low water level has
tripped
Wire break or short-circuit in the con-
nection between switch cabinet and
pressure switch
Malfunction of control fuses on the pri-
mary or secondary side
• Any damage to the connection cable should only
ever be eradicated by a qualified electrician.
• The switch cabinet must be kept clean.
• If the motor power is 5.5 kW or more, check the
contactors for burn-out from time to time, and
renew them if there is significant burn-out.
• Visual inspection of the electric system parts in
the switch cabinet

10 Faults, causes and remedies

Have faults remedied by qualified personnel
only! Follow the safety instructions in chapter
"Safety".
All faults on the FLA switchgear are displayed by
the signal lamp.
Remedies
• Check the pump and supply line (in
accordance with the installation and
operating instructions of the pump)
• First acknowledge signal on the
excess current release by pressing the
blue button, followed by the PLC by
pressing the "down" cursor key
• Switch 2 phases
• Ensure a stable supply network with
400VAC 50Hz
• Ensure sufficient water level in the
break tank
• Check inlet
• Check cable for wire break or short-
circuit
• Check connections at the relevant
terminals
• Replace cable, if necessary
• Check control circuit and transfor-
mer for overload and short-circuit
• Switch control fuses back on or use
appropriate new fusible cut-out
