When using a lens with CS mount thread,
screw off the black adaptor ring and
mount the lens onto the thread ring.
The camera is equipped with a connection
for an iris control (3). Therefore, a lens with
a video signal controlled iris is especially
recommended. Connect the cable of the
lens as follows to the enclosed plug (see
also fig. 3):
pin 1 = operating voltage 12 V
pin 2 = ground
pin 3 = not connected
pin 4 = video signal 1 Vpp for the iris control
Due to the installed automatic electronic
shutter of this camera also lenses with a
manual iris adjustment can be used.
Attention!
The lenses of the lens assembly and the
CCD image sensor chip must be protected
against dust or other impurities and must
not be touched with the fingers in any case.

5 Mounting of the Camera

The camera can be mounted with a camera
mounting bracket (e. g. MONACOR TVH
series) at the wall or ceiling. For this a
mounting thread each is provided at the top
and bottom side.
For outside mounting the camera must
be placed into a weatherproof housing (e. g.
MONACOR TVG-400).

6 Connection of the Camera

1) Connect the output jack VIDEO OUT (4)
via a 75 Ω cable (e. g. MONACOR VEC-
62/10) with one or several monitors.
Watch the correct 75 Ω termination at the
monitor resp. with series connection at
the last monitor. With a cable length of
more than 100 m a video amplifier should
be switched between the camera and the
cable to compensate for cable losses.
When using several cameras, insert a
video splitter (e . g. MONACOR TVSP-410)
or a camera switcher (e. g. MONACOR
TVS-410/-810) between the cameras and
the monitor.
2) When using a lens with video signal con-
trolled iris (auto iris) connect the cable of
the lens to the included plug (see chap-
ter 4 "Lens") and insert the plug into the
AUTO IRIS jack (3).

3) For the power supply plug the mains plug
into the mains socket (230 V~/50 Hz). The
camera is then ready for operation.

7 Operation

Adjust the distance at the lens and in case
of lenses with an iris which is adjusted man-
ually, set the iris to optimum picture repro-
duction (depth of focus and brightness).
If the picture reproduction is not clear with
correctly adjusted distance, the mechanical
focus setting for the lens must be adjusted.
For this loosen the hexagonal screw (1) of
the lens thread ring. By turning the thread
ring adjust a sharp picture. Then tighten the
hexagonal screw again.
7.1 Automatic electronic shutter
When using a lens with manual iris control
set the DIP switch E.E. (6) to position ON. In
this position the automatic electronic shutter
is switched on: The shutter time is auto-
matically adjusted to the present brightness.
The camera works with shutter times from

electronic shutter, therefore this function
should be switched off (position OFF) during
very weak lighting.
When using a lens with video signal con-
trolled iris (auto iris) set the switch (6) to
position OFF.
7.2 Gamma correction
Adjust the required gamma value (0.25, 0.45
or 1) with the DIP switch γ (5). The gamma
value of standard CCTV monitors is 0.45.
7.3 Phase adjustment
The vertical synchronization of the camera
is via the 50 Hz mains frequency. Mains
interferences can influence the picture qual-
ity. By turning the PHASE control (7) the
phase of the camera circuit can be shifted
(±90°) so that possible mains interferences
occur at the time of the blanking interval of
the video signal and are thus mostly elimi-
nated.
If several cameras are going to be connect-
ed to a monitor via a camera switcher, their
phases should be synchronized. By this a
stable monitor picture is obtained while
switching over from one camera to another.
