In general

The installation can be stopped by means of the main switch in case of irregularities. E.g.
the installation should be stopped immediately if the scrapers in the main canal by acci-
dent should stop. This will facilitate possible later repair work.
If there is a loss of pressure because of leakage or similar, and the installation is equipped with start - o -
matic a pressure switch will stop the motor. This is to ensure that the installation will not go empty and
thus damage the pump and the motor.

MAINTENANCE

In spite of the difficult environment, in which the scraper system works, it is very reliable and sturdy. You,
however, have to obey the following advice in order to ensure a long lifetime for your installation.
5.1

Pump station

5.1.1

Controlling the oil level

The oil level should be controlled once a week.
1. Remove the air filter with the measuring pin.
2. The oil level in the tank can be seen at the oil pin.
3. If the oil level is to low, put on more hydraulic oil, type VG-32-HM (ISO).
5.1.2

Cleaning the air filter

The air filter with measuring pin should be cleaned every 3 month.
1. Unscrew the air filter with the measuring pin.
2. Move the filter up and down several times in diesel oil.
3. Shake the air filter with the measuring pin several times.
4. Screw in the air filter.
5.1.3

Replacing the return filters

There is a return filter at the pump station. It should be replaced for the first time within 6 months. After
that replace the return filters once a year.
5.1.4

Replacing the suction filter

The suction filter should be replaced every 3 years. This should be done by a STRANGKO fitter. At the
same occasion the fitter will remove possible condensed water and dirt from the bottom of the tank.
5.1.5

Safety valve

The installation is equipped with a safety valve which ensures that the pressure in the hydraulic system
does not exceed the opening pressure, to which the valve has been adjusted. In this way you are sure,
that the installation is not exposed to a pressure which can damage the pump and the pipe/hose connec-
tions.
The safety valve is adjusted by the STRANGKO fitter when installing the installation.
The adjustment of the safety valve should only be done by the STRANGKO fitter.
The scrapers are mounted using special CINTER BRASS - bushing, which ensure troublefree movement.
The scrapers do therefore not have to be oiled.
