What to do
Make sure that the water level in the suction point is correct. Ensure that
baskets and strainers are free of debris. Tighten all fittings/unions on the
suction side of the pump, remove and replace mechanical seal.
Make sure that the filter tank if full.
Open all valves in the system, clean the skimmer and pump basket, check
the pump impeller for blockage.
Check that all electrical switches are on. Ensure that the circuit breakers are
properly set. Check if the timer is set properly. Check the motor wiring at
terminals.
With the power switched off, turn the pump shaft (should spin freely).
Backwash or clean the cartridge.
Clean the skimmer and pump strainer.

Supply to be corrected by an electrician. Motor running hot to the touch is
normal. Thermal overload protector will function to turn them off if there is
an overload or excessive high temperature problem.
