correctly and are securely installed.
2. Depress the top mount valve handle and rotate to
BACKWASH position.
3. Prime and start the pump according to the instructions.
5 Note: All suction and discharge valves must be open when
starting the system. Failure to do so could cause severe
personal injury. Make sure that the filter vessel is full; failure to
fill it up with water before starting the pump will damage the
equipment.
4. Once water is flowing out of the waste line steadily, run the
pump for at least 2 minutes. The initial backwashing of the
filter is recommended to remove any impurities in the sand
media.
5. Turn the pump off and set the valve to RINSE position. Start
the pump and operate for about 1/2 to 1 minute until water
in the sight glass is clear. Turn the pump off, set the valve to
FILTER position, and restart the pump. Your filter is now
ready to operate in the normal filter mode.
5 Notes
Take note of the initial pressure gauge reading when the
filter is clean. (This will vary from pool to pool depending on
the pump and the general piping system). As the filter
removes dirt and impurities from the pool water, the
accumulation in the filter will cause the pressure to rise and
the flow to diminish. When the pressure gauge reading is
8-10 PSI (0.55-0.69 BAR) higher than the initial "clean"
pressure which you noted, it is the time to backwash (clean)
the filter.
Important: To prevent unnecessary strain on the piping
system and valves, always shut the pump off before
switching the filter control valve to other settings.
Clean the pump strainer and the skimmer basket regularly.
This will help the pump and filter to operate properly.

Filter control valve functions
FILTER - Set the valve to FILTER setting for normal filtering.
You can also use this setting for regular vacuuming.
BACKWASH - This is used for cleaning the filter. When the
filter pressure gauge rises 8-10 PSI (0.55-0.69 BAR) above
the start-up (clean pressure), stop the pump and set the
valve to BACKWASH. Start the pump and backwash until
water in the sight glass is clear. This will take approximately
2 minutes or less depending on the dirt accumulation.
Proceed to RINSE.
RINSE- After backwashing, turn the pump off and set the
valve to RINSE. Start the pump and operate for about 1/2 to
1 minute. This will ensure that all the dirty water from
backwashing is rinsed out from the filter to waste. Turn off
the pump, set the valve to FILTER setting, and start the
pump again for normal filtering.
WASTE - This is used to drain the filter, lower the water
level, and vacuum heavy debris out.

6 Warning
This equipment must be installed and serviced by a
qualified technician .Improper installation can create
electrical hazards which could result in property damage,
serious injury, or death. Improper installation will also void
the warranty.
If the pump is within the stated warranty period and is
malfunctioning, contact your supplier. Failure to do so may
void its warranty. Refer to the warranty documentation
supplied with the pump.
All electrical work is to be carried out by a Qualified
Electrician; under no circumstances should you attempt to
repair the electrical components of the pump unless you
are qualified to do so.
4.4.1 Location
The pump must be installed and placed at a substantial distance
away from the pool or water source to prevent water from the
pool or water source from pouring or flowing onto the pump.
The pump must also be placed in a location that can be easily
accessed during periodic servicing. The pump must be placed in
a well-ventilated and dry area that is free from flooding.
4.4.2 Electrical Installation
While we adopt the latest technology in designing and
manufacturing our pumps, users must follow a few simple
precautions during installation which will ensure years of
trouble-free operation.
1. The pump's suction line should not be smaller than 1 1/2"
(40mm imperial) or 50mm true metric.
2. The suction line is to have as few bends or elbows as
possible. There must be no air traps on the suction line.
3. Installation is to be performed on a solid, flat foundation
with the pump bolted securely to it.
4. The pump's electrical cable must be wired with the proper
voltage and current in accordance with the wiring
instructions.
5. All wiring (electrical) work must be carried out by licensed
electricians and must be installed in accordance with the
local codes.
6. The motor must be grounded.
7. The weight of the plumbing and fittings is to be
independently supported and not carried by the pump.
8. The maximum total head (Hmax) of the pump (in meters)
shown on the pump label should be noted by the installer.
9. The permissible temperature is greater than 0˚C and lesser
than 40˚C. The pump should never be operated outside of
these temperatures or damage may occur.
4.4.3 Important Electrical Notice
The electrical installation is to be done by a licensed
electrician.
Each pump requires a circuit breaker to separate it from the
