3 Installation instructions

3.1

Preparation before installation

1. Position the filter as close to the Swimming Pool/ Spa as
possible.
2. The filter should be placed on a level concrete slab, very
firm ground, or equivalent. Ensure that the ground will not
subside over time to prevent any strain to the attached
plumbing.
3. For ease of access when operating and servicing, position
the filter and the piping connections in a convenient
location.
4. For easy identification in case of service difficulties, ensure
that the compliance label is facing the front.
3.2 Installation

1. Mount the pump to the sand filter support by using the
bolts and nuts.
2. Install the drain plug assembly to the sand tank.
3. To mount the sand tank to the sand filter, press it down and
turn. Make sure that it is facing the right direction (the drain
plug should be facing outside).
4. Insert the tube with the diffuser body inside the tank as
pictured above. Place the funnel on the tank's mouth and
pour the quartz sand into the tank (sand weight should be
approximately 19kg).
5. Remove the funnel, clean the tank's neck thoroughly, then
attach the valve with O-ring using the flange clamp set. (the
"PUMP" port on the valve needs to be facing out).
6. Connect the sand tank to the pump using the hose, hose
clamps, and hose adaptors.

Installation Notes

• Make sure that the filter is functioning under the work
pressure. Install a pressure control valve when the system is
using a booster pump.
• If the pump's position is higher than the water level, it is
required to install a Back Water Control Valve.
• If the pump's position is lower than the water level, it is
required to install an Isolation Valve.
• Avoid bending the connecting adaptors and hose
connections. This could decrease the water flow and
prevent the equipment from functioning efficiently.
• Do not apply solvents on the fittings excessively as this
could result in O-ring and sealing problems.
• Do not over tighten the fittings and adapters.
4 Operation Guide
4.1 Sand filtration system working principle
Incoming water from the piping system is automatically
directed to the top of the filter bed by the Multiport Valve.
Sand, dirt, and debris are trapped by the filter bed as water is
pumped through it. The filtered water is then returned to the
bottom of the filter tank through the Multiport Valve and back
through the piping system.
